Dave used to be the best, he could handle any other fly in the garden, he used to be the champ. The best milligram for milligram (yes - I nearly said flyweight) middleweight in the business, no-one wanted to stand in the ring with Dave the Destroyer. "I was the beez knees, innit", said Fred after I'd bought the old salt a beer "no one never stood no chance wiv me, you know what I mean?". I did, Dave was indeed a formidable champ in his day, but the easy life had left him lazy, he'd put on a few milligrams and was now fighting at heavyweight where the flies were harder and now, younger. They all wanted to say to their maggots "I kicked Dave the Destroyer's ass, I was well wicked and bad", even though Dave was well past his prime, that would still have some cachet in the gyms around the garden. Dave's last fight was against the new and up and coming heavyweight "Lights Out Lenny", a youngster who didn't even fly away from wasps. Lights out had given Dave a lesson, in the pre fight interview Lights Out Lenny was asked for a prediction for the fight "Pain, he said "lots of pain!" paraphrasing a line from "Rocky 23". Lenny was right, Dave had suffered a severely dented compound eye and had been advised by his beetle doctor to give up the fight game. "You've had a long career now, Dave, " said Dr. Neville "4 weeks is a long time to be a pro, give up know while you've still got use of all 6 of your limbs". Dave had to agree, and this is why he was sitting in the nectar bar having a drink, he'd tell his story to anyone for a pint. Dave said "I fink me shud find anover job, innit, me missus is still peng and I've still got da bling from me youf". I had to agree with Dave, whatever he said...
Everyone loves a Dave. A portrait taken of this man at my local Camera Club, not long after he sold me a lovely 27mm pancake lens! via 500px ift.tt/1NnREY3
Dave Gunning playing on the main stage at the Stan Rogers Folk Music Festival (better known as Stanfest). The festival is for music fans and lovers. A celebration of singer / songwriters that takes place the first weekend of July every year in Canso, Nova Scotia.
I took 1100 shots during the 3 days of the festival. I plan on putting a few more on flickr!

Dave, you ask the right questions!
Haven't posted a flower in a while so have a treat with one of my neighbors dahlias... Dave just buys a bag of bulbs and of course no names but they are still pretty...
