Date and location unknown. A classic frame Italianate house—probably in upstate New York or a part of the Midwest settled by New Yorkers, judging by the form. The one-over-one sashes are replacements.

The Pichard Inn on Burgh Island (here seen from the causeway), often referred to as "part-time island" because as the tide recedes it leaves a causeway of golden sand, is said to date from 1336. It is thought that the island was at one time was inhabited by monks engaged in quiet contemplation and the brewing of mead and that the inn may well have been a lodging house for visitors to the monastry of which nothing remains. In the 18th century, smugglers and wreckers hid on the Island, secure for the time each day when the tides protected them from law enforcing excise men. The island was the smuggling domain of Tom Crocker who gave his name to a cave on the coast of the island, and spent most of the time when he wasn't at sea in the Pilchard Inn.

This February (Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month) Verizon urges consumers to take action and break the silence surrounding teen dating & domestic violence.
To show his friends that he isn’t the loser they have made him to be, Marcus bets them that he can get a date with the next girl that walks into the bar. But things don’t go quite as planned when the girl puts a price tag on their night out. Now a simple bet has turned into an all night adventure, where money, stalkers, and craziness collide.
Attended may first Cars and Coffee Scotland meet the other day and it was honestly amazing. So many insane cars turned up, my favourite being the White Huracan Performante.
These are probably my favourite pictures I think I've ever taken to date, really happy with all of them. Heres to the next meet!

There is a lot more story under the cover picture for the set. It was my first camera, a Kodak Brownie, in 1956. It was given to me by Lt. Cmdr. Dee Greenwell and his wife, Louise Greenwell, who were friends of my folks. They lived in San Mateo, California at the time, and this was Belmont, California, a neighboring city.
I had the title as this being my brother B's probably 12th birthday. On January 30, 2022, I was making some corrections, etc. and I realized it was more likely his 14th birthday party. His date (presumably first date) was Linda, and I think her last name was Ellis, but I'm not sure. That was a small portion of our huge backyard in Belmont, California.

The misericords, which date from between 1508 and 1517, seem to have been brought at a later date form La chapelle du chateau de Gaillon. The complete stalls are each “organic” masterpieces, If there’s a flat surface it is decorated with either relief carvings, paintings or marquetry, even the guide channels for the main seat show pictures. The misericords are of particularly fine quality carving - overall the misericords and stalls are breathtaking!

Basilica of Saint-Denis
The Basilica of Saint-Denis (French: Basilique royale de Saint-Denis, now formally known as the Basilique-cathédrale de Saint-Denis,) is a large former medieval abbey church and present cathedral in the city of Saint-Denis, a northern suburb of Paris. The building is of singular importance historically and architecturally as its choir, completed in 1144, was one of the first structures to employ all of the elements of Gothic architecture.
The site originated as a Gallo-Roman cemetery in late Roman times. The archaeological remains still lie beneath the cathedral; the people buried there seem to have had a faith that was a mix of Christian and pre-Christian beliefs and practices. Around 475 St. Genevieve purchased some land and built Saint-Denys de la Chapelle. In 636 on the orders of Dagobert I the relics of Saint Denis, a patron saint of France, were reinterred in the basilica. The relics of St-Denis, which had been transferred to the parish church of the town in 1795, were brought back again to the abbey in 1819.
The basilica became a place of pilgrimage and the burial place of the French Kings with nearly every king from the 10th to the 18th centuries being buried there, as well as many from previous centuries. (It was not used for the coronations of kings, that function being reserved for the Cathedral of Reims; however, French Queens were commonly crowned there.) "Saint-Denis" soon became the abbey church of a growing monastic complex.
In the 12th century, the Abbot Suger rebuilt portions of the abbey church using innovative structural and decorative features. In doing so, he is said to have created the first truly Gothic building. The basilica's 13th-century nave is the prototype for the Rayonnant Gothic style, and provided an architectural model for many medieval cathedrals and abbeys of northern France, Germany, England and a great many other countries.
The abbey church became a cathedral in 1966 and is the seat of the Bishop of Saint-Denis, Pascal Michel Ghislain Delannoy. Although known as the "Basilica of St Denis", the cathedral has not been granted the title of Minor Basilica by the Vatican.
The 86-metre (282-foot) tall spire, dismantled in the 19th century, is to be rebuilt. The project, initiated more than 30 years ago, was to have begun in May 2020, and is expected to take about 11 years at a cost of about €28 million.
Background
Saint Denis, a patron saint of France, became the first bishop of Paris. He was decapitated on the hill of Montmartre in the mid-third century with two of his followers, and is said to have subsequently carried his head to the site of the current church, indicating where he wanted to be buried. A martyrium was erected on the site of his grave, which became a famous place of pilgrimage during the fifth and sixth centuries.

Digitised image from the Town Hall Photographer's Collection - GB127.M850.
The Town Hall Photographer’s Collection is a large photographic collection held in Manchester City Council’s Central Library archives, ranging in date from 1956 to 2007.
The collection consists of tens of thousands of images, covering the varied areas of work of Manchester Corporation and latterly, Manchester City Council.
The photographs were taken by staff photographers, who were tasked to document the work of Corporation/Council departments and, in doing so, captured many aspects of Manchester life and history, including significant changes to the Manchester landscape.
The collection includes many different formats from glass negatives, to slides, prints, CDs and even a couple of cine films.
What is especially exciting is that the majority of these images have never before been available in a digital format and therefore have only ever been seen by a handful of people.
A team of dedicated Staff and Volunteers are currently working on the systematic digitisation of the negatives held within the collection.
This album represents the result of their work to date.

Description: Winston Hall on Montreal Street was built for female aircraft workers at Can Car during the Second World War. The hall operated much like a school residence with festivities to keep up morale. It even contained a dance hall, a bowling alley and a grocery store.
Transformed into low-rent residential apartments after the war, the building was deteriorating badly and scarcely half full by the 1990s. After Winston Hall closed in 1995 squatters took it over. Fire consumed what remained of the buildings in 1998.

I went on a Blind Date last night!
I took Robyn out for her birthday to see the play Blind Date and I was picked out of the crowd to participate as the "blind date". it meant that I had to be on stage for the full 90 minutes of the performance. luckily Robyn was a good sport and didn't mind me being in the spotlight (lots of free drinks helped). it was an amazing experience. you should certainly check out the show if you get the chance. Rebecca Northan is fantastic! :)
the photo above was taken during the performance in front of 250 people.
here's a review of the performance I participated in: www.westword.com/2011-11-03/culture/blind-date-rebecca-no...
Blind Date - Created by: Rebecca Northan
There’s nothing like the thrill of a first date...anything can happen! In the brand new play Blind Date, you’ll experience all the excitement and awkwardness of love as Mimi, a Parisian temptress, goes on a blind date with a different man every night– plucked right out of the audience! Straight from a critically acclaimed, sold-out run in Toronto and produced by Kevin McCollum (who discovered the Tony Award-winning productions of Rent, Avenue Q, and In the Heights) this fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants fusion of clown, improvisation, theatre and social experiment is sure to make you “shriek with laughter” while falling in love with Mimi and her man! Called, “A flight of theatrical fancy that is absolutely magical” by the Toronto Star this “must-see performance” (part burlesque, part Lucille Ball, part Match.com) will delight men and women alike! Blind Date is the perfect date night or evening out with friends.
This picture is #12 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at www.100strangers.com/
This couple was on a first date at a park in Manitou Springs, and while they were interesting and fun to talk to, they didn't want to have their names and faces "all over the internet." I think they really just wanted me to leave them alone. But! They did allow me to take this shot and said it was "okay" to use for the project.
