Delivered to the US Navy as 148328 and later with the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force, the aircraft was registered to Flying Boats Inc at Fort Lauderdale in mid-1979. Stored at Marana, AZ, between 1984 and 1996 when bought by United Capital Corp and then to Wildfire Aircraft in 2012.

"La ferme en ville" (Farm in the city) is a nice event where lazy ;-) people living in the city (Liege) don't need to move too much to see a real cows, drink real milk, etc. I though this was a nice "save the date" since it's huge and located in one of the main road to the city centre. I guess many photographers from Liege on Flickr will be able to meet at this event (and, later, on Flickr).

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I always really wanted a "1st Edition" Chelsea doll, ever since I first laid eyes on this line at stores. It was sometime probably in early 2003 (maybe late 2002) when I stumbled upon My Scene dolls for the first time ever, at the then local Wal-Mart (which was since closed for a nearby Super Wal-Mart). I could tell right off the bat that these dolls were supposed to be Barbie's answer to the growing popularity of the Bratz. It was an eye roll moment for me as a kid, and yet I still felt intrigued by Barbie, Chelsea, and Madison. There was a moment of contemplation....do I get Madison or Chelsea? Madison of course won out as I'm a sucker for African American dolls AND she had the most awesome curly hair ever. My intention had always been to go back and get Chelsea another day, but obviously that never happened. When the "1st Edition" dollies were no longer in stores, I thought I'd perhaps get another Chelsea instead. But once again my plans floundered--growing up, I didn't own a My Scene Chelsea doll. I want to say that my first two Chelsea dolls originated from the "60 Doll bin" of 2013. This was just two short years after I began collecting dolls again, following a five year hiatus. Finding My Scene dolls in flea market lots had become sort of a regular thing, and it had me craving more. I was especially keen to find this doll, since there were pictures of her in my "Barbie Doll Photo Album" book. Originally, Colleen and I didn't think we were going to purchase this massive tub of Barbies when we found it on opening day 2013. The reason being that the majority of the dolls weren't dressed, or were only partially clothed. We didn't think taking on such a large number of unclothed dolls was smart. But after walking around and deducing that there weren't any other dolls that day, we had a change of heart. Well, that and the fact that there were SO many ethnic dollies in said bin that were calling my name. I got this "1st Edition" doll and "Spring Break" Chelsea from the "60 Doll bin." I was so excited to identify this gal as being the one I had wanted all those years before. Sure, she doesn't have enough of her cool clothing to wear, but just owning this dolly has been a dream come true. I like the simplicity of this Chelsea compared to some of the more exotic ones in my collection, like My Bling Bling and Mall Maniacs. Nothing could be more fitting than my first My Scene doll being this "1st Edition" lady, since this would have been the way it played out had I ended up getting her from Wal-Mart all those years before!
