A small but beautiful bay on the east coast of Yorkshire. A wonderful photographic place to visit as long as you don’t mind the steep hill down to the sea. (And back up!)

Outpacing thunderstorms moving in from the northeast, Via Rail’s westbound Canadian passes a pristine mountain lake at Henry House, Alberta, on August 9, 2016. The train will finally get a drenching from the weather at the station and service stop of Jasper.

This is the view from the ridge, the Ochsenhofer Scharte (1850m) into the next valley, the Duratal. Under a threatening sky the Alps look wild and daunting. The red roof of the farm at Starzelalpe is just visible below. That was the next point we were heading for. [Explored on 12/02/2022, #337]

Memories of Iceland still run fresh in my mind specially Kirkjufell and the scenic waterfall near the most photographed Mountain in Iceland.

The Crescent Moon last night was large and actually red, but it did not last long as clouds obscured it. I could not get a better capture through my closed window; I would have liked to have been able to show the red and not just the glow around it.

An Epic Chase Day was upon us. Though the rest of the Nation was celebrating the Holiday. National Weather Service had us pegged for a moderate risk that afternoon & evening. Due to my injures to my back the past few months. Chasing Storms has been on the back burner... Until Now!!!

First cells of the day were in North Central Kansas. The boundary line was from North Central Kansas up to Norfolk Nebraska & a bit further north. All the action that day was going to be the east of Hastings Nebraska & South. Planned it out correctly for time & distance.

We encountered this incredible updraft structure on the back side of this storm as we were passing though Hastings Nebraska. Were were trying to catch up to it Via Hwy 6 & we eventually we did just to the east to Sutton Nebraska.

This storm was producing 2" hail so we held off a few mins to the the west of Sutton. We had perfect view of the wall cloud due southwest of the hail core. Had a nice tail but never formed.

Proceeded south to get south of revved up supercell. We got along side of it via Hwy 81 south of Geneva Nebraska. Few miles south of Strang Nebraska we got ahead of the rain core & got in sight (paralleled to this storm) of this incredible developing wall cloud under the base of this storm. It did not produce a tornado but the views from this supercell were down right spectacular.

We had to reposition ourselves a few miles south of Bruning Nebraska as this Supercell move south southeast.

The video & images I caught that afternoon were worth the trip. Phenomenal Storm Captures out on the plains of South Central Nebraska on the 4th of July.

Made it home to light of some fireworks & delicious bbq. Nice end to this day with family & friends after this Epic Storm Chasing Day!

The general area in and around Disaster Bay, part of the Ben Boyd National Park in the state of New South Wales, Australia, has over many years been the site of numerous shipwrecks.

The bluff formation along the beach on the right marks the mouth of the Wonboyn River which in turn leads to Wonboyn Lake just visible in behind the bluff.

I was camped 6 km away and this photo was taken just before 4.30pm and by 8pm the area was hit by thunder, lighting and torrential rain - it was a wild couple of hours.

A simple ‘after the sunset’ shot today.

The day had been nice, the weather calm and pleasant, the winds were low, cool and muted and then evening descended and stillness covered the world.

And here is another perspective of this magnificent waterfall located in South of Iceland. This one is in pure Black n White

Here is another composition of Kirkjufellsfoss in Iceland.

Someone to make you laugh.

and sing you the stars of the sky.

Someone who dreams the rainbow to you,

that someone is a real friend.

Jemand, der dich zum Lachen bringt

und dir die Sterne vom Himmel singt.

Jemand, der dir den Regenbogen herbei träumt,

dieser jemand ist ein wirklicher Freund.

Another motif I captured pretty much every time we pass is the lovely Nine Maidens Bronze Age stone circle near Belstone. This time round we had this dramatic transition between gorgeous sunlight and sinister dark rain clouds in the back. We made it back to the car just in time without getting completely soaked.

For some more impressions of that fabulous circular walk at Belstone, Northern Dartmoor National Park, feel free to have a look at the video I made: youtu.be/7XgS45of6iM

the Great Market Square (Rynek Wielki) in Zamość, view of the Town Hall (Ratusz) and tenement houses of the old town

Zamość is a historical city in southeastern Poland. It is situated in the southern part of Lublin Voivodeship, about 90 km from Lublin, 247 km from Warsaw. In 2021, the population of Zamość was 62 021

Zamość was founded in the 16th century by the chancellor Jan Zamoyski on the trade route linking western and northern Europe with the Black Sea. Modelled on Italian theories of the 'ideal city' and built by the architect Bernando Morando, a native of Padua, Zamość is a perfect example of a late-16th-century Renaissance town. It has retained its original layout and fortifications and a large number of buildings that combine Italian and central European architectural traditions.

The historical centre of Zamość was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1992.

The Great Market Square is a remarkably preserved Renaissance square, recognized as one of the most beautiful in Europe. It's a 100-meter by 100-meter space, designed as the perfect square of an ideal city. The square is surrounded by arcaded tenement houses, historically belonging to Zamość merchants, and features the iconic Town Hall on its northern side.

The Town Hall is a Baroque building located on the northern side of the market square and features a 52-meter clocktower. It features a double-domed tower and a wide, fan-shaped, double stairway at the facade.

Construction of a town hall in Zamość began in the late 16th century to the designs of Bernardo Morando. The building has been heavily modified since the 16th century, and the prominent fan-shaped staircase was added two centuries later. The tower was also added in the late 18th century. Since the 16th century, the building has had a long tradition of playing a bugle from the tower. However, Hetman Jan Zamoyski forbade the bugle to be played in the direction of Kraków due to political competition. In 2020, a ceremony was held to play the bugle in all four cardinal directions, including towards Kraków.
