Have a beautiful weekend!

It was raining all day, so I spent some time re-editing an older capture. Hope you are having better weather.

From the album Sky and clouds

Taste of autumn. An early fall view of Kankakee State Park in Illinois USA.

A colorful view of East Grand Traverse Bay, taken from a cherry orchard on Old Mission Peninsula, Michigan.

Maharloo Lake, Shiraz, Iran, April 2017

Just before sunset, the sky became dark and ominous. Viewed through my sister-in-law's sunroom.

It was a very cold morning and a paper-thin layer of ice began to form on the ponds at Lake St Clair Metropark. It very slightly distorted the reflections in the still water for a subtle, but interesting effect (that can be best seen by clicking the picture to the largest size picture).

The wind was strong enough that it was difficult to steady my camera, so I used my iPhone camera. Waves crashed over the edge of the Charlevoix South Pier. To withstand the wave action, the Charlevoix South Pier Light was rebuilt using steel to replace the wood in the year 1948.

Looking west into Lake Michigan at Charlevoix, Michigan.

It was blue skies and sunny, until it wasn't.

This is a late afternoon scene from our hotel window. The roofline points to the rushing clouds over East Grand Traverse Bay.

The blooming trees in the foreground are a crabapple and a cherry tree.

A dutch scene , taken from a little dike in South Holland , Barendrecht. Taken in march, but it was cold as in winter, without the snow. You can see a little path going to some houses in farm style and there is actually a real farm here.

It contains a lot doesn't it? houses, farm. trees, reed, a shed, a car , a fence an old path ad even flower vases. Enjoy!

There is an advantage to walking on a cold, windy, rainy morning...most other people will stay home : -)

This path in Elk Rapids, Michigan turns at the end of the fence, and continues down to the Lake Michigan shoreline.

But sometimes one can make a pretty good guess.....

The Belle Isle Bridge, (formally known as the Douglas MacArthur Bridge) was built in 1923. Its 19 "arches" are concrete cantilevered spans, with a total length of 2356 feet (718,1m).

Belle Isle is an island park in the Detroit River, about halfway between Detroit, USA and Windsor, Canada. The bridge connects Detroit to the island.

Net voordat de regen naar beneden komt, werpt de zon het licht op het landschap van de AA in Veghel. The Netherlands

A slightly misty start to the day with ominous cloud moving in from the South which didnt have much rain in it and it cleared within the hour leaving broken cloud and bright sunshine.

Thank you all for taking a close look at my gallery, its much appreciated!

The Lake Michigan shoreline was still frozen, with ice about 30 feet into the lake. Another cold front is sweeping in from the lake, creating a barren, but beautiful beach scene.

A much more traditional view of the Eilean Donan castle than the last few images I’ve posted. Taken from the waterfront down at the Castle side this location is much easier to get to and so is used more frequently than the hillside views I’ve been using over the past few weeks. One advantage this angle of view has is the ability get more of the castle in reflection on the water and a calm morning gave me the opportunity.

While the light tries to make its way

through the menacing dark clouds

swollen with rain ...

The sea waves rise roaring,

shaken by a raging wind ....

Everything seems to be crossed

by uncontrollable and overwhelming forces ...

Mentre la luce tenta di farsi largo

fra le nubi minacciose e gonfie di pioggia ...

Le onde del mare si sollevano ruggenti,

agitate da un vento impetuoso....

Tutto sembra attraversato

da forze incontrollabili e travolgenti ...

MANY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU! :)

The fantastic fields of sunflowers seemed to go on forever. The bright "faces" of the flowers were turned away from the gathering dark clouds, like an audience of thousands of points of brightness, looking to me.

That was a happy scene.

Vista Point, Patterson, CA

We've had wind and rain storms during the last few nights, with no signs of the moon. Earlier this evening, however, it did become visible for a while, but always with a heavy cloud covering. Not having a telephoto lens did not help me in getting a better shot either. This photo was one of the best and with a little editing I was able to add a bit more interest.

There's a unique park off of I-94, near Battle Creek, Michigan. It's the Calhoun County Historic Bridge Park.

The bridge in this picture is the "133rd Avenue Bridge", built in 1897 for $715. Originally, it crossed the Rabbit River in Hopkins Township, Allegan County. According to the park's description, this bridge is a "four-panel, half hip, pin-connected Pratt steel and wrought iron truss bridge." That's a lot of words to describe a bridge that's only 64 feet (19.5m) long!!

The 133rd Avenue Bridge is the first bridge to be restored and relocated to the bridge park. There are currently five historic bridges at the park.

It was a lovely warm evening and perfect for a walk on the beach, a cool change came in but hardly any rain.

Many thanks for your visits, kind comments and faves, very much appreciated.

Point Betsie Lighthouse, on the Northeast shore of Lake Michigan, was completed in 1858. It was automated in 1983. It was transferred to Benzie County under the National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act in 2004.

It's one of the most beautiful an most photographed of Michigan's historic lighthouses.

I increased in LR mainly the contrast, blacks and clarity which intensified the colors of the sunlit mountains.

HSS! Happy sliders Sunday!

Cold, windy, rainy...not a great summer day for swimming at the Frankfort beach, but a cool photo op since it was nearly deserted.
