3nd Chase of 2017...
Most of you know that follow me on Flickr & Social Media... that I love good opportunities to capture lightning. It was one of the reasons why I took up storm photography 20+ years ago. I didn't have many opportunities in 2016 to capture lightning...
This year it started off with a Bang. I couldn't have asked for a better situation. Disappointed of that afternoons chase... I was redeemed by the storms ample cloud to cloud and cloud to ground lightning strikes. An epic night of storm photography!

CCR...maybe they knew something...
I see a bad moon a-rising
I see trouble on the way
I see earthquakes and lightnin'
I see bad times today
Don't go 'round tonight
It's bound to take your life
There's a bad moon on the rise
I hear hurricanes a-blowing
I know the end is coming soon
I fear rivers over flowing
I hear the voice of rage and ruin
Oh happy days are here again... check out the song...Enjoy!

The clouds obscured the full moon tonight until very late, so could not get any colour in shooting this photo, but at least it did become visible late evening in our skies, between clouds.
As angry clouds flow overhead and icy winds blow over the waters of Frog Pond west of Trout Creek, Montana, an eastbound BNSF stack train is silhouetted against falling rain to the north illuminated by the setting sun on September 30, 2014.

Lightning streaks across a dark, cloudy sky, illuminating the night with a vibrant display of purples and pinks. The silhouette of distant trees is barely visible against the dramatic backdrop of the storm.

Medieval castle of the 13th century, seat of Clan McDonnell, located on the Antrim Coast, north of Belfast, Northern Ireland.

This rusty gem can be found at Bigbury-on-Sea opposite of Burgh Island. Although the weather at that moment didn't look terribly great our half-term holiday otherwise consited of fantastic sunny days. We enjoyed an overpriced cappucchio and some ice cream at the beach watching the famous sea tractor ploughing through the waves and I dropped my camera into the sand while fumbling around with the coffee and ice cream :-P

Early season storms here in Nebraska are simply surreal. The epic beauty that surpasses the sunset's ability to crest its light against the ominous position of this storm that evening.
Sunset cresting into twilight with a huge anvil (Cumulonimbus Incus) approaching from the northwest into South Central Nebraska.
I had way over colorized saturated other things to this original set of images. So I went back & took the raw images back to their original color templates & remastered them back to the original color specs of the origin image.
I only had a few of these published when I posted them back in 2017. Here is the entire set reworked!

This shot was taken right after the rain has stopped, almost at sunset time, while remaining dark clouds were still roaming around.
Thank you all for your visits, favs and comments.

Our first non severe thunderstorms of the 2016 season.
I've been itching to get out to capture some Nebraska stormscapes. I was totally satisfied with that afternoons storm front that passed through about 6:30pm.
Not bad for my first batch of storm captures 2016!

The furthest building to the right of the beck is the original Wensleydale Creamery, the first home of Wensleydale Cheese. Here the beck is in spate after several days of snow followed by a rapid thaw.
This peak near Fort William had snow on it in May. The impressive clouds looked threatening but had some light too. Scottish weather often seems mixed like this.

This is PART 1
In my own opinion....One of the best things on this Planet to experience as a human being...
Sitting on the side of a supercell at sunset in Nebraska! What I was about to witness was going to be epic! True Thunderstorm Eye Candy! Tons of ambient cloud to cloud lightning! Erupting over the spacious Nebraska Skyline..
Front row tickets to the show and this was going to be a double creature feature!

Late evening on hot and humid August evening in Nebraska. Warnings popped up about an hour before this storm was even visible to the eye over the horizon at sunset.
Spectacular Colors emitting from this stacked supercell. Cloud to Cloud Lightning shooting off every few seconds made this a storm chasers dreamscape.
Gear in hand that evening I traveled north out of Odessa Nebraska. Sat about 7 miles to the southwest of Amherst Nebraska. This storm was moving almost due south, southeast, meaning it was coming right at my location.
It would be a Historic Event to capture! Now remastered to the original color with no enhancements. Enjoy!

The famous floating torii (shrine gate), part of Itsukushima temple complex on Miyajima island, photographed a million times, but my first. A very wet and misty morning added to the amazing atmosphere.

Due to the entire family suffering from some sort of respiratory infection we wanted to get some fresh air into our airways at the coast. This time we chose Exmouth as our destination. The weather forecast was for dark clouds and 50% of rain - we were lucky as we stayed dry and could spend time flying the kite, walking along the water and even enjoying some obligatory ice cream. The clouds were indeed extremely dark and atmospheric - fortunately for us the heavens opened just after we were back in the car. I took this photo underneath the landing bridge of the Exmouth lifeboat station.

It was to good to be true, but right after sunset a secondary small non severe thunderstorm started to brew just to the southwest of Kearney.
Even though I just had a spectacular afternoon of some incredible stormscapes, I was in for a treat this night. An electrified thriller, one storm that I wont soon forget.

The sea lay unnaturally still, as if stripped of will, waiting beneath a sky that had begun to descend. Vast and suffocating, the clouds carried the weight of ancient shadows and silent sentences long since decided. Light bled along the horizon, trapped between fire and void, clinging to existence not in hope, but in defiance, aware that this was its final reckoning.
No thunder announced the moment, no voice dared to break the silence. The world understood what was coming. Every ending leaves a scar, every silence a warning. And at the burning edge of the horizon, where the last glow surrendered to darkness, time itself bent, diminished, before the cold permanence of eternity.

A late season weak front was pushing though. The late afternoon cloud cover right at sunset, created this surreal color capture just on the outskirts of the city.

Two dedicated fishermen at a public dock / boat launch near Algonquin Park. Despite the rain, these two men were happy to be fishing. At the time of this photo, no fish had been caught...
A shot from tonight's sunset at a very windy and spitting rain at Hylton castle . Iv attempted an image blend On this shot using two differently exposed images and luminosity masks Think I defo need more practice its to much time taken and not sure if im happy with the result . Thanks for looking .

If you see how dark and threatening the sky can look in Ireland, you'll understand that a bright front door and facade may be just the thing you need to cheer you up! And that's what my preceding photo shows.
This photo was taken in the region of Killarney.
Two days ago I visited a friend at the coast in Ostend. When I saw this wonderful combination of colours, I grabbed my camera and took some shots. The dark line are heavy clouds rolling in, making the sea below look paler - quite unusual, I found.
