そ (so) for "soba"Following on from the previous hiragana in this Moekana series which was せ, today we learn "そ" (so). Today's word is "そば” [蕎麦] (pronounced "sawbah") which means "soba noodles".
The katakana equivalent of "そ" is "ソ".
ExampleYou can use this in a sentence like:-
Uchi no soba wo kutta nowa dare da!
うちのそばを食ったのは誰だ！
Who ate my soba noodles!
ExerciseMake the shape of "そ" on the table when eating noodles next time - do this to impress a boy/girl on your first date.

I did mention that we are starting off small scale and can currently only afford a small plane at the moment. Our plane has been in service for only a few years and is like brand new so no need to worry about safety ^^;
Due to tying to manage Culture Japan season 3 and my new TV corner every morning on Check Time, I've not had the chance to get to the airport to take a look at our plane - hope to get out there this week!

Robotics;Notes [ロボティクス・ノーツ] is an upcoming science fiction anime adapted from 5pb and Nitroplus's [ニトロプラス] visual novel Robotics;Notes. The anime will be directed by Nomura Kazuya [野村和也] (Sengoku Basara 2) and produced by Production I.G [プロダクションIG] (Ghost in the Shell, Eden of the East).
Robotics;Notes will begin airing 2012/10/12 1:15 AM on Fuji TV's noitaminA [ノイタミナ] slot.

For folks who have always preferred 2D girlies - now there is no excuse not to like AKB48 because they too are getting the 2D treatment in their own anime due out next Spring. The production has the likes of Shoji Kawamori involved too which hints at some mecha action.

Pretty much took photos of just about *everything* I ate for the few days that I spent in Malaysia in May. My fave is Prawn Mee (noodles), Poh Piah, Rojack, Char Siew Rice, Wonton Mee and Teh Tarik. Many of these dishes can be found in Singapore too which I hope to be scoffing down this November - food photos in the Singapore Food post.
As for Tokyo - anybody know any decent Malaysia restaurants over here?

Founders of the iPad DoDo Case sent over a signed prezzie. I knew I was going to wait a long time when I originally ordered the red one but its certainly worth it. Have not seen a better looking case to date.

Cant remember at which point in life but I started to live with my parents again - with dad for a couple of years and then with mum until I moved out. This photo taken with mum last year. I want to be able to buy her a house somewhere so that she doesn't have to live in that council flat anymore. Love her to bits but she's as stubborn is as stubborn does and wants her own place and not one where I pay the rent for her ^^;
Don't have the cash quite yet after I nearly went bankrupt in 2009 but have been able to recover a wee bit of late. Getting a place for mum now would pretty much use up all of our savings and also mean that I would not have enough cash flow to continue to run the company which is not a good thing.
