Another stylish otaku room photos posted over at figure.fm - this time by Dieta from Germany. Great lighting in the room which has figures dotted all over the place but displayed with thought as not to make the place look cluttered. I want an office like this when I get a bigger place!

My desk is on the right side. I’ve mounted 2 Ergotron LX arms on a 2×2 Expedit which is placed behind the Galant glass desk. Both screens are HP ZR24w models, one connected via DVI and the other one via DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort to my Mac Pro. Below the screens sits my MacBook Air (13″ 2011 model) and 2 of my favorite Animé figures (Sasasegawa Sasami & Ikki Tousen). The iPad on the left is connected to the BlueTooth keyboard which is placed in front of it. I use it mostly to watch YouTube videos (keeps my desktop a bit cleaner) or to keep an eye on my servers via SSH and the magical saidar. Oh the black little box next to the iPad is my great Kindle! What an awesome device. On the HP wireless printer/scanner lays another Animé figure, but more on her later.

The rumor turned out to be true! Kiki's Delivery Service (Majo no Takkyubin)[魔女の宅急便] will be getting the live action treatment next Spring as announced on TV this morning in Japan and in Yahoo News.
Kiki will be played by 16 year old cutie Fuuka Koshiba [小芝風花] who so far has appeared in a few drama and commercials.
Kiki's Delivery Service is my most fave Ghibli flick - the story that follows Kiki is so adorable and memorable as I first watched it during the time when I was still learning Japanese.

Ships pass through the Millennium Gate as Eiji in his Solar Marine Shell and Mirai in her Solar Marine uniform do their hero pose - a doodle by Pinakes for the EOY event in Singapore that took place at the end of last year.

The Smart Doll will have about 24 servo motors, a CPU board, bluetooth and touch sensors. We are currently designing her so that she can dance to existing MMD sequences and move using Kinect - but that may not be ready in Firmware Ver 1.0.
Power source will initially be external with a Ghost-in-the-Shell-like socket that fits in the back of her neck using an L plug. There will also be touch sensors in the head so that she will give a cute reaction when she is given a pat. I'm not going to attempt to muffle the motor sounds as I kinda like the whirring sound ^^
You will be able to plug her into the mains where she will just do her own thing in Idle Mode (looking around the room, shifting body etc) keeping you company as you work - a bit like the animations in MiraiClock3.
For mobility, I want her to be able to be charged via a USB mobile battery but depending on the power consumption, she may end up having to use one of those heavy duty laptop mobile batteries.
Apart from Idle Mode where she does her own thing, there will be other presets too which she will perform at the press of a button as well as being able to control her via your Android phone (iOS comes later).
We are currently designing her so that you can remove the arms and head too. The first version should be ready during of June.

To Heart 2. Nanako-Chan Sukumize. I saw this cute figure on eBay and again and again I watched the auction and I knew I HAD to buy her. She’s 1/5 – much bigger than our other figures, but well – she’s so cute that she got a special place. The calendar you can see is self collected and edit by my wife – a lot kawaii images are inside.

Its August the 1st in Japan now which means its Oppai Day. The reason being is that today's date is written as 08/01. "0" = "O", "8" = "pa", "1" = "i" =total being "O(p)pai". And here is your sauce.
"8" is "pa" because it comes from "ha" as in "hachi".
And to celebrate Oppai Day, Mirai-chan shows us her Miracle Mirai stripes - illustration by DMYO.
Incidentally, tomorrow is Pantsu Day. Reason is that 8/2 would be pronounced as "8" = "pa" and "2" as "tsu" ="pantsu". Sauce from Google sensei.
