Denmark has a remarkable number of famous designers for such a small courty. PH is one of the people who made sure this is that way. Mostly famous for his lamps (IKEA is still coming up with new ways to copy them without getting sued), this is his grand piano from 1931. It's also still in production, if you are interested.

Creating a simple, soft design for small and large pendants was the main idea behind Cecilie Manz' Caravaggio series. The curves passed through a number of shapes during the design process, but this version captures a feminine form. More info about the Caravaggio pendant

Often imitated, never matched, the bicycle design of Søren Sögreni is legendary. He's been at it for 28 years and he is still going strong.

190721: Last weekend we were at the flea market in Preetz, and I could not pass the perpetual teakwood calendar. I watched a funny situation: A little boy let his yellow squeak duck swim in the small channel in Preetz and ran with joy side by side. A dog saw the duck and almost broke free - he wanted to catch the duck! After the flea market we were at the Preetz Priory - the most impressive for me was the 400-500-year-old oak!

Designed by Danish-American furniture designer Jens Risom in 1941 for Knoll.

We inherited this boring IKEA closet from the former owners. We thought it to be irritating but kept it for temporary, practial reasons.

The drawers and doors were covered in brown laminated wood - horrible - but we decided to paint them in high-gloss black.

This completely changed the character of the closet and the room. Adding a mirror-like effect and sharp, crisp geometry.

I have a few exhibitions of my photos coming up and I was playing around with poster designs.

A fantastic building costing 1 billion Danish kroner... an archtectonic work of art... and here's me getting hardons over tiny details.

I love the Emotions of Architecture.

Handwoven scarf, cotton and crepe wool.

"TURBO was created by Louis Weisdorf in 1965 and manufactured by Lyfa.

TURBO is a very simple design containing 12 identical white-sprayed spiral shaped segments made of aluminium whose exterior follow the face of a globe. This implies that the light does not blind, as the bulb is screened. Due to the vertical placement of the 12 segments the lamp is easy on dust and easy to clean. TURBO gives a functional and exquisite diffuse light and sends a pleasant gloom onto itself and its surroundings.

At the Hannover fair in 1973 TURBO was nominated by an international jury to be shown at the special show ‘Die Gute Industrieform’, where TURBO received the IF73 award. Still in year 2005 TURBO is recognized as a classic design light being included in “1000 Lights” in Taschen’s Decorative Arts series."

I just love mine ;-)

I hate flower photos. But this one accentuates the coolness of the building behind.

Focus way off target.

We've been in this flat for six months now and we are constantly amazed at the lightplay. Nothing but light in through the windows.

The local supermarket had a sale on funky bike lights. For kids and adults. Giving you the chance to personalise your bike even more. Each package has a red and a white light.

Despite the kitsch nature of this selection, they all adhere to the very strict bike light laws in Denmark.

These kind of lights are held onto your handlebars with an elastic string. Easy to pop on and off and to carry in your pocket.

This hat are made from fruit net, thread, paper and paintet red inside. For the exhibition " Pretty women" in

Does anybody know what brand or designer this lamp is from? I saw one once in a shop in Amsterdam with other vintage furniture. It was from my grandmother so it must be from the 70's, 60's or maybe even 50's... Will post another image tomorrow.

It is made of aluminium strips, curved around a steel (?) wireframe). I think it is supposed to standing but it can also hang from the ceiling.
