Margaret Bourke-White took this picture in 1937 after the Louisville flood. People (mostly black people) were lined up to get free bread, and behind them was a billboard saying that America has the world's highest standard of living. Then where are we heading? How can we survive from the current Economic crisis?

The figure is used in the yearly Alban Pilgrimage procession. Much of the current layout and proportions of the structure date from the Norman times (11th century). In the north transept Grimthorpe (late 19th century) had the Perpendicular window demolished and his design inserted—a rose window of circles, cusped circles and lozenges arrayed in five rings around the central light, sixty-four lights in total, each circle with a different glazing pattern. The coloured glass by Alan Younger was added to Grimthorpe's north transept rose window and unveiled in 1989 by Diana, Princess of Wales. St. Albans cathedral, England, 2017
