I've been seeing an acupuncturist since last summer and I swear by it. The scientist in me was very skeptical, but so far it is the only modality that has kept me out of chronic shoulder and neck pain. Now, I am all in. So when my acupuncturist asked if I wanted to try fire cupping for my sore, snow shoveling shoulders, I said OK! Whoa! Just to be clear: the bruises do not hurt, the therapy felt awesome, and I woke up this morning with no more muscle pain!
