At the request of my uncle Jim I had to take photos of the large group of relatives watching the world cup. This was after we'd come home from the cottage that afternoon.
My intention was to capture everyone's exact reaction at the moment of something really exciting. So here they all are reacting to Spain scoring a goal.
It's interesting how some people look dramatic and others nonplussed.
Update: I consider this my best photo of 2010, largely due to the dynamics of the scene - how people do or don't react, the timing, the processing and just how it's an accomplished shot of everyone in the same place, all watching something together. They're all unified in their interest in the sport on TV.

This wonderful piece of architecture can be found on the outskirts of Sandend next to Glen Glasshaugh distillery. Built in 1761this was the Glasshaugh Windmill, this being the only surviving remains of the building from that time. As such it has been protected due to its historical and architectural significance. It is know locally as "The Cup and Saucer"!
On May 9, 2023, the 26th annual Perlman Cup took place at Forsgate Country Club. This golf outing for women and is designed to accommodate beginners as well as experienced golfers. Dedicated to the memory of Bessie Cutter Perlman, the mother of Special Olympics New Jersey, this event honors her commitment to individuals with intellectual disabilities and her hope for a more inclusive community.

In the evening, we went to a buffet dinner and a khmer folk dance show at the Angkor Mondial Restaurant in Siem Reap.
Silver cup used at Roman dinner parties decorated with pairs of male lovers, scenes not uncommon in Ancient Rome.

This is how the Odeon cinema at London's Leicester square has been decorated with. At the top, beams of rotating lights shoot out into the square, lighting up the colourful autumn leaves. At a level above the entrance, the Triwizard Cup can be seen. On each side of the cinema (not seen in the photo) the billboards for the film are displayed.

The body of the cup, which comes from the former Benedictine monastery of St Veit at Herrieden near Ansbach in Franconia, consists of an ostrich egg. Ostrich eggs were highly prized as exotic rarities both in the secular world of Kunstkammer and cabinets of curiosities and in ecclesiastical contexts. The Gothic mount of the present cup, with its spiral cap, chain and adoring angels, suggests that it was used as a reliquary or as a container for sacred liquids, such as water from the river Jordan or holy ointments

I ate dinner here once last year around Halloween. I ordered a long list of sides and I couldn't finish them all--salad, burrito, applesauce....
I was walking through Galesburg, MI several weeks ago and thought I'd try to capture a little bit of the restaurant even though they were closed. I'm surprised this turned out so well with the Hassy smashed up against the glassy.
