Recipe for hot soy sauce cucumber
Ingredients
1/2 cucumber
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp mirin
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp English mustard
Method
Halve the cucumber and scoop out the seeds. Cut the cucumber into half moon chunks, salt and leave to stand for 20 minutes in a covered bowl.
Take a plastic bag and add the remaining ingredients, mixing well so that the mustard is dissolved. Add the cucumber and mix well, then refrigerate until needed – leaving for at least 10 minutes. Drain well before adding to a bento – best used the same day or the day after.
I drive pass this house every morning at 6:30 and make it a point to look at their cucumber plant along their fence. There are so many of these and also so many busy bees ! I think they are cucumber but not sure. One day I decided that today is the day that I must take a shot for my friend, so I parked my car and got this for you....
Friends…
Thank you for taking time to visit my photostream. All your visits & comments mean so much to me. My new hobby @ Flickr.com had brought to me many friends who have common interest.
However, I’m sorry to say “no invite please”. With full-time job & family, I cannot spend too much of my time on internet. I’m sure you’ll understand.

I felt like taking some more artistic and abstract photos lately. I found some interesting subjects in our greenhouse, such as this detail of a cucumber plant.
Some of the 4 varieties I’ve grown this year. The little round ‘Dragons Eggs’ taste particularly nice.
The first baby cucumber in the balcony garden. About an inch long together with the pretty flower hat.
Grown from seed in a container.
I think it's the short variety. I had two cucumber plants, one with short and the other with long cucumbers. One of the plants died and I don't remember which one it was.

Cucumber Falls in Ohiopyle State park in southwest PA.
I know I've posted these falls multiple times over the years, but given this park is one of our favorite places to hike and that the seasons provide us with different views, I enjoy heading to the falls on nearly every trip we make (3 or 4 times/year)

jones kept dragging in vines, settling himself in a cuddler and chomping them the best he could with no teeth.
wild cucumbers.
I've been pulling them because they have a tendency to eat plants. they get huge, make fruit, then seeds. I thought the seeds were black stones.
I put up two photos to show you the results of two scanner programs. on the left is epson scan. on the right is ViewScan.

My thanks to all of you who stop, look and comment. I will be sure to check out your photostream.
Either Araniella cucurbitina or A opisthographa, can't say which without an intimate examination. The males of these species are very colourful.
