Nope, I'm not getting senile; I realize I've done this before....
But this is from a different restaurant!
Dwarf Sea Cucumber (Lissothuria nutriens) a/k/a Scarlet Sea Cucumber. Detail of the feeding tentacles. The Sea Cucumber extends its tentacles, which are covered with mucus, to collect microorganisms. It then places the tentacles in its mouth and "licks" them clean. Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. Moss Beach, San Mateo Co., Calif.
If you're looking to attach something to a wall for fun or artistic purposes, both a cucumber and a banana can be attached with duct tape. However, there are a few things to consider:
1. Shape and Weight: A banana is generally lighter and has a curved shape, which might make it easier to tape securely. A cucumber, being heavier and more rigid, might require more tape to stay in place.
2. Surface Texture: The skin of a banana is smoother and might adhere better to the tape compared to the bumpy surface of a cucumber.
3. Longevity: Bananas tend to ripen and spoil faster than cucumbers, so if you want your wall art to last longer, a cucumber might be a better choice.
Ultimately, it depends on your specific needs and the look you're going for. If it's just for a short-term display or a fun project, either should work fine with duct tape!

Love, love this wee variety. Vines are super short and production is super heavy. Fruits are also on the smaller size, perfectly shaped for pickling AND they arrive ALL at once! A few plants and you will be in business!

when i saw this featured on marcus samuelsson's blog...
i knew that i wanted to make them.
yesterday...
i picked some cucumbers...
and mrchazman brought me some lemons from the store...
and viola!
next time i make them...
i'll cut the cucumber smaller...
as my julienne's were a bit long.
mrchazman is skeptical of trying them...
so i made him some plain lemonade pops.

Taken for Active Assignment Weekly: Food
I always thought it was a little odd (and perhaps a bit creepy) how children's cookbooks always have pictures of food that looks like faces...
What it took: Cheerful cucumbers, arranged on the plate, set on the cutting board on a chair in front of a window for light. Cropped square. Turned the tone curve a little more s-shaped to make everything a bit more sharp and make the colours pop a bit differently. End result is still cute-with-a-touch-of-creepy to me, but your mileage may vary. :)
Or, with more alliteration:
Cheerful cucumbers and cutting board a la children's cookbook. Cropped square. Curved in an S for colourful colours. Cute-but-creepy. ;)
today at the farmers market I was given a bunch of free zucchini, cucumbers and gourd plants. i love my job!
