not sure what happened...he wasn't strangled or anything....
the lemon cucumbers seem to be doing just fine....
After several sunny warm days, my cucumbers are catching up, lots of flowers, both female and male. We actually ate a cucumber the other day, so fresh and tasty. And there are three more for later this week.
The first this year, photo take just a few minutes after I picked it .... and absolutely delicious it was too!
Salmon and cucumber are really a nice combination found for example often in sushi rolls. I tried something a bit different by puréing the cucumbers to have a foam base. The salmon is pan-broiled and served on confit tomatoes.

Olives, small cucumbers and onions vinegary, are sold together and call them cocktail olives. Best to go with a piece of bread and olive oil. (Mayorcan style).
Aceitunas, pepinos pequeños y cebollas avinagradas, se venden juntas y las llaman aceitunas de cóctel. Lo mejor para acompañar a un pá am oli, tÃpico mallorquÃn.
Nope, I'm not getting senile; I realize I've done this before....
But this is from a different restaurant!
Dwarf Sea Cucumber (Lissothuria nutriens) a/k/a Scarlet Sea Cucumber. Detail of the feeding tentacles. The Sea Cucumber extends its tentacles, which are covered with mucus, to collect microorganisms. It then places the tentacles in its mouth and "licks" them clean. Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. Moss Beach, San Mateo Co., Calif.
If you're looking to attach something to a wall for fun or artistic purposes, both a cucumber and a banana can be attached with duct tape. However, there are a few things to consider:
1. Shape and Weight: A banana is generally lighter and has a curved shape, which might make it easier to tape securely. A cucumber, being heavier and more rigid, might require more tape to stay in place.
2. Surface Texture: The skin of a banana is smoother and might adhere better to the tape compared to the bumpy surface of a cucumber.
3. Longevity: Bananas tend to ripen and spoil faster than cucumbers, so if you want your wall art to last longer, a cucumber might be a better choice.
Ultimately, it depends on your specific needs and the look you're going for. If it's just for a short-term display or a fun project, either should work fine with duct tape!

Love, love this wee variety. Vines are super short and production is super heavy. Fruits are also on the smaller size, perfectly shaped for pickling AND they arrive ALL at once! A few plants and you will be in business!
A small Mojave Desert Tortoise. He was only 4 inches long. When hatched, they are only the size of a silver dollar. I believe this one is about 1 to 2 years old.
Because they are often eating green leaves, their mouths look like little cucumber slices. They are amazingly good climbers too. They can climb up amazingly steep and large rocks.

when i saw this featured on marcus samuelsson's blog...
i knew that i wanted to make them.
yesterday...
i picked some cucumbers...
and mrchazman brought me some lemons from the store...
and viola!
next time i make them...
i'll cut the cucumber smaller...
as my julienne's were a bit long.
mrchazman is skeptical of trying them...
so i made him some plain lemonade pops.
