the edges of a blue green and red Tibetan prayer flag. The background bokeh came out cubed which was very interesting to me.
Macro Monday's and the theme of "On Top".
A little late this week and I was struggling for an idea and almost on the verge of giving this theme a miss but turns out the itch was too great.
I have some of these Freezer Cubes which are filled with water and go into a lunch box when frozen to keep food cool. However that's not what I use them for. Well in actual fact, this is only the second time I have used them. The first was to drop some into a glass of water for splash photography. This time I thought they may look good when light painted, especially if backlit.
So it was with this that I gave it a go. Getting the right amount of light on them was fun to experiment and this I think was exposure 5 out of 8.
I focussed on the Orange one on top and played with the torch until I got a pleasing result
Cube houses (Dutch: kubuswoningen) are a set of innovative houses built in Rotterdam. Their architect Piet Blom tilted the cube of a conventional house 45 degrees, and rested it upon a hexagon-shaped pylon. The houses are located on Overblaak Street, right above the Blaak metro station. There are 38 small cubes and two so called 'super-cubes', all attached to each other.
Crazy Tuesday theme: squares and cubes
I thought I would try making square bokeh and I think it worked quite well. I also used low lighting and a side light.
Thank you everyone for your kind comments and favs. All are greatly appreciated. HCT
Rotterdam - the Netherlands
Cube houses (Dutch: Kubuswoningen) are a set of innovative houses built in Rotterdam and Helmond in the Netherlands, designed by architect Piet Blom and based on the concept of "living as an urban roof": high density housing with sufficient space on the ground level. Blom tilted the cube of a conventional house 45 degrees, and rested it upon a hexagon-shaped pylon. His design represents a village within a city, where each house represents a tree, and all the houses together, a forest.

Sir Duncan Rice Library Aberdeen.
Long exposure of the Library exterior with some fast moving clouds overhead.
This building has some of the most eyecatching.. daring & unique architecture I have seen in Aberdeen City.
Close to the Old Harbour and a stone’s throw away from the Central Library, overlooking the weekly market, the thirty-eight cube houses provide an extraordinary variety due to the tilted impression made by the construction. The cube house has three floors with a living area of 100 square metres, with the third floor sometimes being used as a city garden.

The central idea of the cube houses around the world is mainly optimizing the space, as a house, to a better distribution of the rooms inside. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cube_house
