Down in Port Fairy, they don't bother with solar panels to collect the sun's energy. They just tap straight into the sun! ; )
CSSs Kingsbury Job, one of the few jobs that doesn’t run under wires, cruises out of LaPorte passing a small lake outside of town.
This was a bright "mock sun" about 22 degrees off to one side of the sun, often called a sundog - formally called a parhelion.
Happy Nice Wonderful Clouds Tuesday!
It was a pretty wild evening, with lots of thunder and interesting clouds as sunset approached. It had been close to 100F during the day, but with a lot of wind and some rain, there was a dramatic drop in the temperature. It went from over 90 to 69 in a few minutes.
The last rays of a fiery sunset over the Grampians National Park in western Victoria catching on the wonderful curves of the 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

El Parque del Lago Eola.
Lake Eola Park is a public park located in Downtown Orlando, Florida. The lake is actually a sinkhole and is famous for its fountain. The fountain changes colors at night like a light show.
The park was established in 1892. The "Centennial Fountain," was installed in 1957.
The majestic fountain and graceful swan boats make Lake Eola an exceptional amenity to the area.

More than 25 TLEs were observed during the early morning of Apr. 27, 2023 over thunderstorms at E. Aegean Sea and W. Turkey. Bright parent lightning flash seen below. The dark patches are clouds. Observe the lower tendrils of the sprite group, converging towards the thundercloud top (not seen here, but one can safely assume that it is towards the bright lightning flash below). This convergence follows from the convergence of the temporary electric field lines towards the thundercloud.
TLEs (like red sprites) appear, under specific circumstances, above thunderstorms (e.g. red sprites appear at altitudes of 40-90 km).
I've used a Sigma 85 mm lens at f/1.4, for 1/25'' with 30 k iso.

The afternoon and evening was a passing parade of wonderful storm clouds and lightning on the horizon. Mother nature gave us a real treat all evening. Although this scene to the naked eye was all dark, this fifteen second exposure was enough to boost the ambient light from the cabins and caravans on the shore of the Murray River and light up the foreground reeds and far trees across the lagoon and river. The birds were settled in for the night on their various perches. The flash of lightning in the distant cloud was a bonus!
Happy Nice Wonderful Cloud Tuesday!

This lovely "beast" appeared over a thunderstorm in Rhodes isl., Greece, on Nov. 13, 2023. More than 30 events were observed during the evening of Nov. 13, 2023 over #thunderstorms at E-SE. Aegean Sea and W. Turkey.
TLEs (like red sprites) are upper atmospheric electrical discharges and they appear, under specific circumstances, above thunderstorms (e.g. red sprites appear at altitudes of 40-90 km).
I've used a #Sigma 85 mm lens at f/1.4, for 1/25'' with 40 k iso.

Severe thunderstorm racing south at 55mph no time to get ahead of it for a better shot. Springfield, IL 7/30/24
A very distant spoonbill was momentarily the only creature stirring to life as the sun just peeped over the horizon and lit up the underside of the low cloud with a wonderful red glow.
Taken at Mannum on the Murray river in South Australia.
Personally I like Cirrus clouds which give that abstract arts feeling. This was taken when I woke up, a usual routine to look at the sky before wash up :)
