Adobe Illustrator CS6に新しく追加された「線にグラデーション」機能でドラゴンを描いてみました。
これはアウトライン表示の状態。描画されているパスはたったこれだけです。

Straight Raw file on left, retouched on right.
Retouched blemishes.
Duplicated background layer, applied surface blur w/mask for hair, eyes, mouth, nose.
Created B/W adjustment layer set to overlay w/red channel pushed right, rest mostly left. Set to soft overlay
Created Levels adjustment layer to increase contrast. Set to soft overlay, opacity reduced 73%
Eyes copied to own layer on top, applied high pass sharpening, set to soft overlay.
This image was processed in Camera Raw 7. In CR6 the front panel had Temperature, Tint, Exposure, Recovery, Fill Light, Blacks, Brightness, Contrast, Clarity, Vibrance and Saturation. The new panel goes like this;
Temperature, Tint, Exposure, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, Blacks, Clarity, Vibrance and Saturation. New algorithms have been written for these and are much improved especially the Highlights and Shadows adjustments. They work much better than Recovery and Fill light. So for this image I adjusted the Highlights, Shadows, Blacks, Clarity, Vibrance an Saturation in Camera Raw 7. Then opened it in CS6 and at 145% I reduced any noise on the individual Channels. I then added some Smart Sharpen. I really like the look of the color in the images I have worked on so far, It seems just that much better to me. There is now perspective cropping, When you have a selection that is not the whole screed it shows you in centimeters etc. exactly where in the image it is. A cool new feature in the brush tool that more accurately represents the exact size and feathering of your brush. Also it's 3D capabilities have been much improved.
