A wonderful 1933 WWI war memorial window by Catherine (known as Kitty) O’Brien, a member of the An Túr Gloine (Tower of Glass) Irish stained glass co-operative, which she joined in 1906. The window depicts the final verse of Tennyson’s poem Crossing the Bar:
For tho’ from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the Bar.
The window is in St. Multose, Kinsale, Co. Cork, in Ireland, and commemorates Edward Crump Dorman (who died in Gallipoli) and Thomas Stephen Lewis Dorman.
Crossing the border. "No photos" signs everywhere. The border guards insisted we stop for photos with them.

~ Crossing on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel ~
My journey back north now took me to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge which I was excited to experience. Two separate tunnels take you under the water and back up again - a bridge so long you can't see the other end. There is a "rest stop" where you can get out to take in the view, even a restaurant and gift shop. The cold and powerful gusts of wind and the dark sky made it nearly impossible to take any photos. But I managed a few shots, barely and not good enough to post. Maybe someday I will get another chance.
Hademore Crossing signal box located by the Up Main line alongside Fisherwick Road level crossing. Friday 21st December 1990
Hademore Crossing signal box was a London & North Western Railway Company type 4 design that opened in 1899 fitted with a 15 lever London & North Western Railway Company Tumbler frame. The level crossing gates were scheduled to be replaced by power operated lifting barriers on 12th December 1965 but the work cancelled and was carried out on 3rd April 1966 and the lever frame was replaced circa 1979 by two British Railways London Midland Region individual function switches. The signal box was scheduled to close and signalling pass to the Trent Valley workstation in Rugby Signalling Control Centre on 2nd January 2007 but due to incomplete cabling work closure was postponed until 18th March 2007 when control of signalling passed to Lichfield Trent Valley signal box. After closure it was planned for the box to be moved to Whittington Cricket Club but it was donated to the Chasewater Railway and the signal box top was moved on 18th April 2007 onto a new brick base at Chasewater Heaths railway station
The signal box carried a London Midland & Scottish Railway Company post-1935 design nameboard but an explanation for the door I cannot provide

Plum blossoms illuminated by the setting sun.
The dark part of the background is a telephone pole. I suppose the dark/light background could be considered distracting, but I've decided I quite like the symbolism.
On our way to Exton Park today I noticed the lights flashing so span round to grab this shot at Langham Junction

This is the shot Scout pointed out to me. It is just upstream from the last two shots is an area that drops about 4 feet. You can see the strata here. The rock was layed down in layers where dinosaurs once roamed. Many fossils and footprints have been found in these rocks as they split apart. I was too busy trying not to fall on my ass to look for any.

The former Little Bowden Crossing signal box located by the former Down Main line adjacent to Scotland Road in Market Harborough where it formerly controlled the level crossing. 14:25, Tuesday 27th August 1985
(1/125, F8/11)
Little Bowden Crossing signal box was a London & North Western Railway Company type 4 design which opened in 1879 fitted with a 12 lever London & North Western Railway Company Tumbler frame. The last train ran over the line between Northampton and Market Harborough on 15th August 1981 and the line was taken out of use the following day. Official closure came on 27th February 1984 and eventually the signal box and lever frame were moved into storage the Northampton and Lamport Railway. The signal box was used at Pitsford & Brampton in 1997 and the lever frame remains in store
At the far end the box has a replacement finial which was in place by 1972 and looked very home made
