NECR Ethanol Extra crosses the Millers River in Millers Falls, MA

A cut of empty covered hoppers is pulled by Flats Industrial Railroad's SW1500 1222 across Bridge 4, a vertical lift bridge over the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland.

The Queensferry Crossing is a road bridge in Scotland. It was built alongside the existing Forth Road Bridge and carries the M90 motorway across the Firth of Forth between Edinburgh, at South Queensferry, and Fife, at North Queensferry, (courtesy of Wikipedia}

Yesterday they started major roadworks to the bridge, however, there were no major problems during the morning peak after the Queensferry Crossing had closed to southbound traffic for resurfacing work. Motorists travelling towards Edinburgh from Fife have been diverted onto the Forth Road Bridge while 15 metres of tarmac on the crossing is replaced.

It still looks beautiful from this standpoint.

Up in its headwaters the Skagit River takes on a unique blue color brought on by suspended minerals in the glacially infused waters.

Crossings are never too tedious to walk through when there is a prized destination on the other side.

OSR 644 and 647 switch the PDI chemical facility in the south end of Guelph. Where I'm standing is the former Toronto Suburban right of way, just to my left was a diamond between the TSR and CPR. The TSR line was pulled out in the early 1930s.

This is Frankfurts youngest bridge, crossing the Main River to connect the south of Frankfurt with the north to the new European Central Bank.

Have a great Sunday, everybody!

Unguarded railroad crossing near Tucker ghost town, Utah County, Utah.

Though this may look like a selective color key, it is just a regular color image. The dirt and rocks are just a dull gray and the plants haven't come to life yet so it looks black and white.

ZBRG1 heads east near the crossing of the Deschutes River, a few miles east of The Dalles.

The Hugo Job is stopped at Belt Line Crossing waiting on the Belt Job which is returning from New Brighton behind a solo B39-8E. Not very often do you get the Belt and Hugo Jobs side-by-side on a Sunday as the Belt Job usually makes it back to Midway around noon.

A reclusive water rail swimming across an open stretch of water.

A nice change from the monotony of Green rolling stock that I had been photographing, 150219 still carrying the now obsolete First Great Western colour scheme, heads away from Terras Crossing on the Looe valley line working 2L90 Looe - Liskeard service. Also a nice touch visiting this location with the tide in for once!

Crossing the Clarence.

It was a huge project that was a joint Federal/State government incentive that formed a $4.95 billion upgrade of the Pacific Highway beginning at Hexham and the Queensland border.

A total distance of 657 kilometres.

The final link was the Woolgoolga to Ballina link which is upgraded to four lanes.

One of the obstacles to be overcome was the construction of a new bridge over the Clarence River at Harwood.

Whilst it is an amazing bridge the statistics are even more incredible as the bridge consists of:

• 1.52 kilometre, 35 span dual carriageway bridge

• 620 metre length over the river

• 30 metre vertical clearance above the river

• 20 metres east of the existing Harwood Bridge

• 117 marine and land piles

• 35 piers – 13 in the Clarence River and 22 on land

• 144 concrete bridge girders weighing up to 168 tonnes each

• all girders built at on-site precast yard.

One of two foot crossings between Lichfield City and Trent Valley is Burton Old Road, the road used to cross the line here at an oblique angle with traces still extant. Some last minute Christmas shoppers are waiting patiently as 323215 and 208 approach with 2P48 Bromsgrove to Lichfield Trent Valley High Level.

Our ferry speeds across the Mandovi river in Goa at 10kmph as dusk set in.

I was on my way to spend a weekend with my dad.

The foot bridge crossing the Yarra looks solid but for photographers on tripods it vibrates alarmingly.

I awoke this morning to the news that Jo Biden has stepped aside from running for the USA 2024 Presidential election. Well certainly the vibrations from last weeks attempted assassination of Donald Trump are reverberating across the USA and they will be crossing bridges to get their act together for the November Election. I am aghast at how nuts things are going over there!

A rare freight move north from Seward is this Frac Sand train crossing Upper Trail Lake at Moose Pass. Just north of here they will lose all contact with civilization as they climb through the rugged Kenai Mountains. When they return to civilization the weather will have turned for the better and make for a great chase to Anchorage.

The morning sun peaks over a layer of cloud and illuminates this small rail crossing.

With a new crew on board, BNSF 4051 begins it's journey down the UP Canyon Subdivision towards Stockton. The train is crossing the famous Keddie Wye Trestle.

Exposed five times. Twice at crossing, once with rose garden, yellow flowers (which I don't know the name) and finally fig marigold. Chose cloudy day for shooting flowers to avoid over-exposure. One of multiples in our ordinary lives

I always liked this former SOO bridge crossing the Escanaba River just downstream from the paper mill at North Escanaba. WC train LO-38 strides out onto the bridge on October 18, 1993 with 6548 and 4326. Only a couple of the ex FRVR geeps received the WC herald after the takeover, 4326 being one of them.

The conductor of NICTD train 606 gets off to set some flares and check traffic at Vail st. crossing before his train continues west. These and a few other nearby crossing were not working, making for a slow start for passengers traveling into Chicago.
