Some of these look like they're in pretty tough shape. I imagine they've all been in the same position for many years.

 

Not sure how the black bear got here, and the bald eagle on the right, getting ready to fly, is big enough to take that elk with him.

He saw me and then didn't want to race, so I had to "count" him. He did it and swam hard. He's much younger than the other swimmers and came in dead last, but the whole place went crazy for him. He's not quite 4.

The trackmobile at Holcim Cement on Iowa Interstate's Milan Branch shuffles cars around at their facility at the foot of BNSF's Crescent Bridge. Note the BNSF vehicles on-hand to help repair the Crescent Bridge following the derailment last week.

Wonder what the neighbours thought of my leaping about the front garden in my socks with a camera and a look of crazed determination......

 

I didn't really appreciate just how difficult it is to get a still shot of an insect, let alone keep him in my viewfinder! This little guy only stopped for split-seconds at a time... So this is what a split second pollen collector looks like! :)

This bobcat was resting lazily on our fence last spring. He stayed put for about an hour before moving on. I managed to get a few good shots. He's absolutely beautiful in this shot.
