$17 @ Billy Kwong, 9332-3300.
We decided to celebrate a little and head to this little eatery owned by local celebrity chef Kylie Kwong. The restaurant can be spotted by the queue at the door, not entirely surprising considering it seats about 20, serves dinner-only and takes no reservations.
When we arrived at 5:45 (door opens at 6), the wait was already an hour. The decor and food is "modern" Chinese. The eating space was dark[1] and cramped, the food good, but ultimately I was disappointed. The $80 set menu looked interesting. Ordering a la carte was a bit of hit or miss and I can't imagine cramping in here again.
[1] These pics are 5 sec exposures. Seriously, I could barely see what we were eating.
