Taking from what David DuChemin covered in yesterday's and today's creativeLIVE classes Im trying to tell little stories with my pictures now. Its a whole other approach than what I was stuck in before, there were some days that I would just go out in search of something cool and then end up only taking 2 or 3 frames of it without much thought. Now with this I saw an idea and decided to work on it rather than just move on, to try and best describe the idea as I could.
If the lectures in uni are anywhere near as good as his classes I'll be very happy indeed! Im just taking it in like a sponge :)
There's a bit of a rant in this picture, a sort of tedious frustrated one about someone else (no, not the usual stuff) so there are both directly relative elements and sort of obscure ones too that all help build the scene. It could just be a picture of stuff in a sink to you, that's cool too :) But knowing now how to search for what he calls 'vision' (a word I have been very skeptical about until yesterday) it becomes a whole lot more purposed now. The pictures may have looked good before but that was only 1/2 the job, the real task is using what you know to put accross something to the viewer. Now I at least know how to carry this out properly, it is difficult though but it becomes more subconcise with experience (kina like the technical theory).
I'll hold back from blatantly saying what it's about, that's your job ;)
Oh and I caught an extra 7 hours sleep on the sofa between lunch and the class. Its 2:58am and Im only getting tired now :)

After watching Andy and Mikey ( www.lightenupandshoot.net ) on www.creativelive.com it has got me into gear to approach people and ask them if they would like their photos taken and do a "100 Strangers Project" so here is Number 1. All my shots for this project will be SOOC with only cropping done in Lightroom 3 so that I can gauge my photography skills slowly progressing and not my editing. Please feel free to critque as it will give me better insight into where things could be improved .

The bride always gets photographed with her bouquet. So I thought it might be an interesting change to photograph the bouquet but this time held by the groom, with all his grooms men behind him. He thought it was weird that I asked him to do this, I think it turned out alright. =)
I’m watching a CreativeLive Webcast today with an Artist/Photographer Doug Landreth and it got me to look closer at the things around me. I’ve had this old set of binoculars on my shelf for as long as I can remember and when I picked them up to photograph I re-discovered this clasp on the case. I found the detail and the bee so interesting that I got out the close-up lens and took a macro shot. It’s a simple image but it has a nostalgic quality that I find intriguing.
