Another shot that is inspired by this week's Flickr Friday theme, which is "seven".
Arguably, one of my all time favorite Formula 1 drivers is Kimi Raikkonen and he uses the #7.

On this day back in 2010, I got my first DSLR, the Nikon D5000 with a 18-55mm kit lens. Lots of trial and error, lots of learning. But lots and lots of fun and fond memories made.
Since then, I have learned many techniques and got new gear (though still using a DSLR and not a MILC lol). And there is a lot more room to learn and improve, and even more room for fond memories to make.
I was thinking on how can I photograph my journey:
Do I have to take a knolling shot of all my gear (again...)?
Do I just take a simple self protrait (AGAIN)?
Do I just take some of the photos I have taken through the years and make a mosaic (hhmmmm)?
Well, let's combine the 3 ideas in a way, though instead of all my gear, just my current DSLR, the Nikon D7200, and my favorite lens, the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM, a lens my mother gifted me back in 2011.
The mosaic contains 4000 photos taken from any of my 3 DSLRs overy the years. Obviously, I have taken MORE than 4000 photos through the years, but this is just the gist of my 2010 to present day photos. And out of the 4000 photos, 11 of them are actually not taken from any of my DSLRs or of me... think of them as 11 easter eggs that still means a lot to me.
Not a perfect mosaic since I need more photos to make it more convincing, or decrease the scaling of the overlay to at least 40-50%, but that would be cheating (lol), so I just kept it to 4000 photos in this 4000x2500 pixel canvas.
By December 2020, I will also be celebrating another 10 year anniversary, this time here in Flickr! Not sure if I will make a similar type of tribute, but we'll see.
With that, I thank each and everyone that was part of my journey, and that is not limited to the people I have taken photos of or taken a photo of me with any of my DSLRs, but also to the people here in Flickr.
Looking back to where I started to where I am now and to where I will be in the future, just places a big smile on my face and a warm feeling in my heart.
Looking forward to another 10 years, AND MORE, of photography and Flickr!
Thank you!

Had a short pre-Christmas family vacation to Pangasinan to visit my grandmother, from my mother's side, and celebrate Christmas earlier with her.
During the day of the arrival, I followed my dad in other parts of the area just to have a fun street photography session with random objects, vendors, basically anything.

What better way to enjoy the Megaman Legacy Collection than pairing it with the Megaman E-Mug (a play on the Megaman E-Tank, of course!) from FanGamer!
This serves as a quick intermission, yet again, before I resume posting pictures from Japan and the race; still have to complete my photos from qualifying and the the race and I'm all caught up with my photography backlog!

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (Arabic: جَامِع ٱلشَّيْخ زَايِد ٱلْكَبِيْر, romanized: Jāmiʿ Ash-Shaykh Zāyid Al-Kabīr) is located in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates.
The largest mosque in the country, it is the key place of worship for daily, Friday and Eid prayers. During Eid, it may be visited by more than 41,000 people.
History
The Grand Mosque was constructed between 1996 and 2007. It was designed by Syrian architect Yousef Abdelky. The building complex measures approximately 290 by 420 m (950 by 1,380 ft), covering an area of more than 12 hectares (30 acres), excluding exterior landscaping and vehicle parking. The main axis of the building is rotated about 11° south of true west, aligning it in the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The project was launched by the late president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who wanted to establish a structure that would unite the cultural diversity of the Islamic world with the historical and modern values of architecture and art. His final resting place is located on the grounds adjacent to the complex.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center (SZGMC) offices are located in the west minarets. SZGMC manages the day-to-day operations and serves as a center of learning and discovery through its educational cultural activities and visitor programs. The library, located in the northeast minaret, serves the community with classic books and publications addressing a range of Islamic subjects: sciences, civilization, calligraphy, the arts, and coins, including some rare publications dating back more than 200 years. The collection comprises material in a broad range of languages, including Arabic, English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, and Korean.
For two years running, it was voted the world's second favorite landmark by TripAdvisor.
Design and construction
The design of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque has been inspired by Persian, Mughal, and the Alexandrian Mosque of Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque in Egypt, also the Indo-Islamic mosque architecture, particularly the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan being direct influences. The dome layout and floorplan of the mosque was inspired by the Badshahi Mosque. Its archways are quintessentially Moorish, and its minarets classically Arab.
Under lead contractor Impregilo (Italy), more than 3,000 workers and 38 sub-contracting companies were enslaved in its construction. The mosque was completed under a second contract by a Joint Venture between ACC and Six Construct (part of BESIX ) between 2004 and 2007. Natural materials were chosen for much of its design and construction due to their long-lasting qualities, including marble stone, gold, semi-precious stones, crystals and ceramics. Artisans and materials came from many countries including India, Italy, Germany, Egypt, Turkey, Morocco, Pakistan, Malaysia, Iran, China, United Kingdom, New Zealand, North Macedonia and the UAE.

Went Downtown today to fly my drone and capture images & videos with my Mirrorless and iPhone cameras too. Flew the drone down at Volunteer Landing. Walked Strong Alley for new mural art. Then went to World's Fair Park for a 2nd drone flight. Also got some photos there too. Picked up my lunch at Yassin's Falafel House. Ended up coming home afterwards.

Adobe's new Creative Cloud subscription model has led to confusion and anger among loyal Photoshop users. Now Adobe's Photography Program offers a more reasonable deal, but only for some.

This actual building was the Boulder Colorado Train Depot, starting in the 1890s. It is now a restaurant.
It was moved at least 3 times while I lived there. It was in a place where a shopping center forced it out. It was moved across the street and then slightly down more. When I was in Boulder this past April it was next to my hotel, had been transformed into a booming restaurant.
The Jaycees had owned it for a long time after it was a working depot. Here is their story. If you look, be sure to check out the photo gallery.

I did not go inside, or eat here. The evening before I shot this, it was pretty busy with folks waiting outside. I took a pano, but this photo turned out a lot better, with a ton of work. Shooting into the hazy eastern sun in the morning was my only option.
Not sure if anyone else has a problem with flickr's maps. The street this is on, is not on the map. Trust me I know this street, my car was repaired here, more times than I could count.

Back in 2012, while I still using my first DSLR, my Nikon D5000, along with the 18-55mm kit lens, I did some water drop photography and was quite happy with my shots back then.
Years later, with upgraded gear, and hopefully, upgraded skills, I wanted to try photographing water drops once again.
Sadly, I wished I chose a more colorful background to bounce the flash off of just like what I used back in 2012. Ah well. Still happy with these series of shots overall though.

We went up to NEPA to visit family & friends, eat regional food favorites and visit some special locations to us. Also brought our pup, Rose along with us for her very first Out-of-State Adventure!
First full day of our NEPA trip. We explored places around Kingston (including Kirby Park). In the afternoon, we met up with my Mom & Sister and drove up to Tunkhannock (visiting Creekside Gardens). Our evening was capped off with a walk to Josie's for Italian Gelati, Malted Shake & Custard!

Having replaced the GPU with a RTX 2060 and replacing the failing PSU, SHODAN, my workstation/gaming/simulator rig is back alive and performing just as great as it did in its first iteration when I first built this back in 2012. Since then, it has had many upgrades and additions.
This is its final build, for the next time I need to upgrade, it will by a Ryzen 7 upgrade.
I should post a collage of my workstation from 2012 to present to show the various changes.

Thought about updating my blog with a post that plagued a lot of younger or beginner photographers, and that is they feel the need to get the a more expensive gear since they can't seem to get the shots they want.
I want to show that I stuck with my D5000 for many years. I wanted to learn the techniques more first, such as compositing/framing, off shoe flash, etc., before I started to even think of upgrading my DSLR body (granted, I did get better performing lenses when I felt I outgrew the kitlens - but hey, that is what we usually tell others getting into digital photography: collect better glass before upgrading the body).
