Story:

On the way home from Lake Constance, we had a breathtaking view of this beautiful landscape in this abandoned parking lot.

The Milky Way was made about 10 kilometers away. Both photos are from last summer.

F-16 Viper at Twilight in Full Afterburner at the "Planes of Fame" Chino Airshow.

When I'm out shooting, I often take photos of the clouds in order to add them to other shots I might like. Take this shot taken looking up Michigan Avenue for example. I got down low to take advantage of the bloomed flowers and color. In the digital darkroom of Photoshop's Creative Cloud, I selected an otherwise cloudy sky and deleted it. In doing so I revealed clouds from another shot on another day. I'm liking this technique and hope to get even better with it in time.

After thoughts tell me that I should also consider selective focusing as well. Had I done that with this image, I could have focused on nearby blooms. That separate shot could have been blended into this shot as well. Have to keep that in mind next TIME again.

Your Best Shot 2020 is officially in full swing! If you haven’t visited the group yet, there’s still plenty of time to get in on the fun.

Here’s how you can participate

Step One: Join the group!

Step Two: Click “Add photo”

Step Three: Look through the photos that you shared on Flickr this year and upload one that you’re most proud of. Maybe the shot turned out just right or perhaps the subject of your photo appeared perfectly. Or maybe the photo captured a moment that brought you joy and you’d like to share that with others. You can also read the full contest rules here.

Ten participants of Your Best Shot will each be given a free year of the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography pack and a lifetime subscription to the DxO Nik editing plug-in collection.

As always, thank you for sharing your photography and your stories!

Nearly 3 years after getting my medical license as a physician, I finally thought of getting me a Parker Jotter pen and have my name engraved. Sadly, my name can't fit, thus I chose to have my surname engraved instead.

I must say, it looks good alongside a prescription pad and my Littmann Cardiology III stethoscope that I happen to have engraved my name as well.

Foto feita em São Paulo no vão do MASP, era fim de tarde em Domingo de inverno, lá ocorre uma feira, e foi em um canto, quase escondido, que me deparei com esta artista de rua vendendo seu artesanato.

Obviously, my right eye is not on the viewfinder of the Canon AE-1, but for the sake of so-called art, I had to place my right eye directly behind the lens, thus I am just seeing the film back cover, rather than the viewfinder.
