This was my submission, "Create..." to the 1st Annual Chain-link Fence Art Exhibition and Competition. Had a lot of fun with this, inspired by chain-link fencing of which I’ve never worked with before, tricky stuff ;) My arms got a work out.
MATERIALS: a 4 ft. x 4ft. scrap piece of chain-link fencing, a found barbeque grill (web), crystals, glass beads, found metal nuts/bolts/washers, metal wire and scrap telephone wire. I wanted people to discover the message in the spider’s web, “create” that would tie into the leading ant’s message of peace, happiness, laughter, love, opportunity, dreams, something(!). It’s good fun if we choose to create positive things for ourselves and the world :)
If you are curious about the process and the other versions/redo’s that went into this piece, please visit my blog to see more!

Creating healthy safer lives is dynamic process that requires proper strategy being implemented at the grass-root levels; and LUWODEA has carried out a baseline survey in the proposed briquette making for cooking fuel project .Briquette making is a new innovation alternative source of cooking fuel that can be used both domestic and in small scale industries. Briquette is made from waste products (coffee, husks, banana peels, charcoal dust, and sawdust) Our clean energy saving cooking stove has several vented holes around it that allows air penetration and the methods of constructing this stove are low-cost and easily transferrable between women and their neighbors in a village, ensuring that use of this stove will spread quickly. We began implementation of this project in early 2014. Since then, we realized that Cooking stove matches hand in hand with briquette making project and now has been responsible for training women in the process of constructing efficient clay cooking-stoves

We’re creating a Haunted House with lower-school students in our Maker Art class at the Lycée Français this fall.
In this after-school workshop, students are building a fantasy world together, with magical creatures, ghosts, witches and other animated characters inspired by Halloween.
We are combining arts and technology to bring their creations to life: each student will have their own room in our haunted house, and they will learn to build simple robots with motors and Arduino, then play with lights and sounds to tell their stories for our ‘show and tell’.
For our first class, we invited students to plan their Haunted House together, then design their rooms and characters, to be featured inside their cardboard ‘wonderboxes.’ My associate Sarah Brewer showed them how to create their own electronic circuit to light up an LED, using copper tape to connect the LED to the battery.
We teach this class to students in grades 4 and 5 at the Lycée Français in Sausalito, every Thursday at 3:30pm, from September 15 to December 15, 2016.

I created this Mosaic using Flick Toys. Its of the mourning dove when he/she was keeping the egg-eggs warm in the nest. Sorry to say that something-which I think was a grackle got at the egg/eggs and took over the nest and laid her eggs.
