We’re creating a Haunted House with lower-school students in our Maker Art class at the Lycée Français this fall.
In this after-school workshop, students are building a fantasy world together, with magical creatures, ghosts, witches and other animated characters inspired by Halloween.
We are combining arts and technology to bring their creations to life: each student will have their own room in our haunted house, and they will learn to build simple robots with motors and Arduino, then play with lights and sounds to tell their stories for our ‘show and tell’.
For our first class, we invited students to plan their Haunted House together, then design their rooms and characters, to be featured inside their cardboard ‘wonderboxes.’ My associate Sarah Brewer showed them how to create their own electronic circuit to light up an LED, using copper tape to connect the LED to the battery.
We teach this class to students in grades 4 and 5 at the Lycée Français in Sausalito, every Thursday at 3:30pm, from September 15 to December 15, 2016.

ABOUT CNC MACHINES
CNC machines are used for any process that can be described as a series of movements and operations. In modern CNC systems, end-to-end component design is highly automated using CAD/CAM programs. The programs produce a computer file that is interpreted to extract the commands needed to operate a particular machine, and then loaded into the CNC machines for production.
Aeromach's started manufacturing by making parts for M-1 tanks, helicopters and space shuttle components.

Create your scene and stage it in the Green Room. Here, you can try your hand at acting and develop a scene or sketch. Props and costumes are on hand, along with materials you can use to build your own stage set. Plus, technicians from Linz Art University (AT) will be on hand to show you how video recording and transmission works.

GET PLUCKED
PSU hired us to design a new brand, but the ID was not well represented on apparel. So we acquired a license from the CLC (Collegiate Licensing Corporation) and started a new line. We made the mannequin (we named Brenda) to display the product in the retail space. The name “Pluck” emerged victorious from an internal naming competition.
Created a custom of a blue squirrel Pock-it Pal wearing tighty whites...don't ask me, that's what they asked for.
