The center support has five 10mm bolts to be removed. There are three up top and two connecting it to the crash bar.

They launched a helicopter to overfly the crash-site, trying to locate the pilot of the jet fighter.
The rider of this Triumph Thruxton crashed in the morning (see damage) and had to be taken to the hospital. I thought it wouldn't be cool to ask if I could salvage some parts. ;-)

Diagnosis:
- Road rash, both knees. Surgery needed for drainage and staples.
- Fracture in lower back, not spinal related.
- Ligament that holds collar bone to shoulder: Broken. Collar bone poking out. Issued sling.
'Crash Friendly' post spotted on the M6. This Swedish manufactured post is made from glass reinforced plastic (GRP).
Despite best efforts to improve road safety through engineering, education and enforcement measures, road crashes, by their random and multi-causal nature, continue to happen at an unacceptable rate. According to the IAM Motoring Trust, nearly a fifth of all those killed in the UK each year are involved in a collision with a roadside feature.
‘Passively safe' crash friendly roadside features, such as lightweight sign posts, lighting columns and vehicle restraint systems that offer a lower risk of personal injury when struck by a vehicle, are now being installed alongside many of our roads.
