Moments before the big crash, notice how she is pulling the oar out of a normal rowing position.
You often see a crash or two, but this year was full of crashes with at least 5 occurring right after the bridge.
Head of the Charles 2013 - it was an awesome year.

When you don't know what to do with an old bulky satellite dish, you turn it into a UFO crash in your front yard with a little alien. Located in Clearfield County, PA
Paramedics attend a bus crash in Newcastle after the Stagecoach vehicle pictured clipped the rear of a Go North East 'Yellow Bus' when turning onto Blackett St. The Incident caused very heavy traffic and major delays to buses which were already delayed because of the closure of Percy St.
Morpeth train crash, 24 June 1984 with the southbound Aberdeen to London sleeper on the notorious Morpeth curve.
Scanned from Kodachrome 64 slide taken by me on my trusty Canon A-1 with an FD 70-210mm. Lived in Morpeth at the time.
The large prop used in the exterior scenes of the sci-fi movie 'Pitch Black', filmed nearby. Photographed around the town and outskirts of Coober Pedy. An opal mining region in the central desert of South Australia.
I was in this beast when this happened. I was in the passenger seat up front. We hit the gravel at the side of the road in Chemainus, BC. on Vancouver Island way back in 1992. We skidded into the ditch. Broke a power pole with the center of the hood area. A tree broke the car on the passenger side headlight. Spun us around and flipped us upside down. I don't remember much between the skidding part and the crawling out of the upside down car part. But the driver got 52 stitches and I got a slight scrape on the side of my head. There was a third in the back seat, unharmed. Not a one of us were wearing a seat belt. I figure I used up my accident luck that day and have never forgotten my seat belt again. I also lost a pair of glasses and a cassette tape of John Mellencamps "Uh Huh". Yes, that's my friends blood on the roof.
A short break between all the Irish-ness of Saturday and St. Patrick's Day.
On Sunday I slept, got up and ate and cleaned, worked, and then came home and ate again and crashed.
Tres Glamorous.
After the crash, the wreckage was left in place because it was too remote and difficult to get vehicles into the woods to recover it. Much may have been scavenged by locals and certainly many pieced are still buried but the Wright R-2600 Twin Cyclone 14 Radial Engine remains.

On November 28, 2007, our Civil Air Patrol Squadron was called to search for the wreckages of a crash of two T-6 Texan II trainer aircraft based at Columbus Air Force Base in Columbus, Mississippi. The aircraft had collided in mid-air near an auxilliary air strip near Shuqualak, Mississippi. We dispatched an air crew including Mike Hainsey as mission pilot, Trey Breckenridge as mission scanner, and me as mission observer and photographer. Our mission was to locate the aircraft and photograph the crash sites. This is the scene of the second crash site. Although the air crew of this plane had been recovered, they had apparently been walking some distance when they were found, and so the location of this crash site was unknown until our aircrew found it.
We were awarded with an official "find" by the Civil Air Patrol for this crash. We also recently received a letter of appreciation, and a CAFB "Blaze" coin from Colonel David K. Gerber, Commander of the 14th Flying Training Wing at Columbus Air Force Base.
After the Steve Fossett crash, I heard a lot of people who have never done aerial searches say things like "how hard can it be to find a crashed airplane?" So, how hard is it? Can you find the crash site? (It's in the main pine field, near about 50 meters from the road in the "seam" of trees near the right. The wreckage was only visible from directly above. Air Force personnel had driven by it several times before we located it from the air.)
I guess I should also mention here that both crew members in both aircraft safely ejected, and were uninjured except for a few cuts and bruises.

On the way home yesterday me, my brother and my sister got in a car accident. Stopping at an intersection we get hit from behind by another car. It wasn't a very hard hit, I took a few second for me to even realize what had happened; I've never been in a car accident before. As you can see the rear end of my brothers dear 1960 beetle is beaten up quite badly and today our necks was pretty sore but other than that we're fine. Elias was really sad yesterday thought, he has spend so much time and effort on that car...

Former crash site of the Fairey Battle Aircraft from 300 Polish Squadron. Today the area has been replanted by the Forestry Commission.
Not happy with this at all.
I mean it's okay but it's not what I had in mind.
I ended up pulling something in my shoulder from doing this and I ended up getting a huge headache.

I was inspired by Rosie Hardy.
I love going through her stream all the time.
She's such an inspiration and gives me so much hope.
