Some pieces just don't fit into the tube notching setup. Here Ernie shows us how to trace the cut line for the top tube on Dawn and Robert's trike frame. That's Robert on the right making sure the curved tube is perpendicular.

Coping Saw!

 

That's the name I was looking for. I knew what kind of saw we needed. I could picture it in my head, but I just could not remember the name...

 

Home Depot had to two versions of the coping saw, both made by the same tool company. One version had a really nice wood handle. The other version has a really cheap plastic handle, came with 3 replacement blades, and cost about 25% less.... I puzzled over this for a few minutes, and then just got the cheaper one with more blades.
