Nicole and her friends lead volunteer events in New York City where people come to learn how to make bears. The handmade bears are donated to hospitals, shelters, and eating disorder programs. The inspiration for Cubs for Coping came from Nicole’s hospital stay. Nicole’s family and friends brought her stuffed animals, which reminded her that she wasn’t alone. Cubs for Coping is about enabling people to channel creativity to spread connection and hope.
