From the very earliest days, Cool Springs camp and service station was an important stop for motorists traveling Arizona's Route 66. Cool Springs was built in the mid-1920s and has been connected with Route 66 from the very start.
Originally built in 1926, this Mobil Oil Station serviced Route 66 travelers until it burned in 1966.
Recently, it has been completely restored and is once again servicing Route 66 travelers!
I'm not sure if she's trying to be someone specific, or if she's just one of the steampunk crowd, but I thought those wings were damn cool. I wish I had a better camera for it.
It has been extremely hot over the last few days. Today, if it didn't get to 100' F, it came REAL close. Humidity was also extremely high and heat advisories have been posted non-stop over the last few days. The pump runs on 12 volts DC, and the system includes both the AC adapter (which is velcroed onto the lid) and a SAE connector for DC. Here I have it connected to a Sunlinq folding solar panel.
