Expanding on Whipstitch Fabrics "Your First (Modern) Quilt" class by making cool color blocks as well.
Fabrics pulled from my own stash.
I returned to Toowoomba today to visit friends and enjoy the cool mountain air which forced me to buy a jumper to ward off the unexpected chill. I also enjoyed some classic Toowoomba weather with the Range being blanketed in big rain clouds all day. This photo was taken from Bailey's Corner at the intersection of Ruthven and Margaret Streets. I think it tells the story about a wet day in downtown Toowoomba.

On a visit to the Marina Bay Gardens on a very hot day. Ben found the best way to cool down. What you can't see is that the water is coming out of a whales blow hole ;-)
Got my Warm Cool QAL top pieced!
It really is so much easier to see the variation standing back from it & in a photo. When I was trying to figure out where I wanted all the pieces it seemed much less contrast-y.
Shot for my photography class.. 'Portrait of a loved one' was the task we were given. Who'd better to choose than your mum! :)
I think my mum looks just like she is in this picture: Sweet and cool. Maybe it would have looked better with the background black, but circumstances prohibit me from taking it again before submitting it. Maybe I'll do it over some other time!
Lizzie keeps cool by staying under the ceiling fans.
If you notice she is also lying in the sun, not to smart sometimes.
OR maybe she knows something I don't.
