Henry Cool Park is located along the eastern shore of Lake Platte. The majority of the park was built in 1932, with some additional features, like the archway, added in 1938 and playground equipment erected in 1941. The park was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in March 2011 for its Rustic Style vernacular fieldstone architecture and for its historic significance to local recreation.
The dam that created Lake Platte was built through New Deal work relief programs -- originally conceived in January 1930 and completed in 1932. With the lake, local citizens through the Platte Community Club pooled resources to build this park with bridges to the island, tree planting, a bathing beach, and other amenities. In the winter, there was also ice-skating.
In 2019, the dam at Lake Platte was severely damaged by flooding.
Concenser cooling water intake building at the former Adirondack Power and Light plant at Amsterdam, NY on the Erie Canal just upstream of lock 9.
As a teen, I traveled the Erie Canal and was fascinated by this plant as we passed on the boat. That was in the late 70's and it was not in use then ether. The 1923 edition of Babcock & Wilcox "Steam, Its Generation and Use" shows an earlier version of the plant.

I was walking down the 大通り in Sapporo and spotted a young girl drinking like a man. Her posture and her denim fashion w/ hat was too cool ~
This is a two year old(coming three) paint gelding owned by a friend of mine. "Cool" as he is called is unique in that not only does he have two ice blue eyes, he is also mostly if not completely deaf. For those of you wondering, no he is not worked hard and yes his knees are closed.
Pisgah National Forest. Water level is low; we've had scant rain this summer, although have had a couple of decent storms in the past few days.

New thermo bag. Not nice, but it's a perfect small size, it was the last and had put 75% down in price!
Sketch diary 22/8 - 2011
I couldn't figure out how to get a blue hue without just doing auto color balance. Later, in this picture, I used the color balance tool and upped the cyan (just a little) and the blue (about 10 or 15 points I think).
Is there a way to get a nice cool hue and also a glow to the picture? Sometimes I feel like the gaussian blur results in too much contrast to be fixed even with levels.

Cool them down on a cooling rack if you have one. It's a good investment if you don't. I found after an evening of storing them in a tupperware, that these are very moist. I might let them dry out, as I find them too wet now and the toasty bits aren't crunchy anymore. :(
