Birth control methods are essential for a woman these days. The importance of taking a solid step towards birth control surely needs no explanation.
Gardner, Mass. - Control car of inbound commuter train. This is as far west as commuter trains ever went in the era of MBTA sponsored commuter service. Unlike the rest of the Boston north side commuter service, this track is owned by the Boston and Maine RR (now Pan Am Southern). When the MBTA and the railroad got into a dispute service ended. Not sure of photo date but I think it was taken while I was still a regular commuter on the former Portland Division. I stopped commuting on an everyday basis in 1989. Pan Am Southern and the MBTA have agreed to let commuter trains run as far west as Wachusett (west of Fitchburg, the end of MBTA track ownership, but not as far west as Gardner.) A new parking lot and boarding platform are under construction in 2014 at Wachusett.
Further progress on the control panel for the tram layout. All the necessary switches are now installed and most are wired in fully. Another couple of sessions should see this tedious job completed!

This is where the operations officer works, filtering the calls that are coming in and assessing which are suitable for the ASU to attend. The tactical commander will have the final say on which calls the ASU attends and in what order. A key consideration is whether deployment of the aircraft will enhance public safety. Watching the Heli-Tele screens we were able to see where G-MPSC, just out on a job, actually was.
The control room is also where the @mpsinthesky twitter account is updated. The account now has nearly 49,000 followers and apparently noise complaints have decreased dramatically since people have been able to easily find out why the aircraft has been deployed, for instance searching for a missing vulnerable person.
Wall LCD panels show views from each underground station, with track indicators showning the current locations of all trains.
