After launching the compact ME automatic with no manual shutter control, Pentax made a course correction, calling the revised model the ME Super. Somewhere along the way, they caught a case of the “push buttons must be better” syndrome that can be traced back to the focus system of the Graflex Graphic 35 and the automatic transmission of the 1958 Edsel. Spoiler alert: they’re not.

In 1972, the control room of the 140-foot (43-meter) telescope in Green Bank, West Virginia got an upgrade. Gone were the Flash Gordon-looking analog monitors and dials and in their place was this suite of Honeywell 316 computer modules. It had 32 Kb of memory, a card reader for program loading, CRT displays, and a position panel which controlled the telescope’s position, errors, and slew rates. These days, the telescope can be run remotely from the Jansky Lab up the lane or from a laptop stashed in a cabinet in this room.

Here is the start of another batch of hockey shots, this time from the Five Counties Hockey League premier division match between Bedford Hockey Club ladies second XI and Bishops Stortford Hockey Club ladies seconds.
This is Steph, controlling the ball and turning towards the opposition goal. The game finished in a close fought 2-0 victory for Bedford.
On a freezing cold January morning with the sun out I was able to use ISO 100. I set the camera up in manual mode to avoid inconsistent metering by the camera but due to light cloud cover did have to alter the shutter speed from time to time.
EOS 40D ~ 70-200L + 1.4x TC @ 180mm ~ 1/640 ~ f4 ~ ISO100 ~ M mode.

1980年5月，70年代末崛起的英國後龐克搖滾樂團Joy Division主唱Ian Curtis，在家中自縊身亡，年僅24歲，一個青春生命的驟然消逝。【CONTROL】呈現Ian Curtis自殺之前最後幾年生活的點滴以及困境，高中校園生活到樂團的成立，奮力地掙扎於愛情與婚姻之間，以及面對時常發病，卻無法掌控的病情。導演安東寇班是知名MV導演，也是著名攝影師（作品曾於誠品藝廊展出），70年代末期開始與英國演唱團體合作，為多位知名樂團如U2等操刀。首次執導電影【CONTROL】，近乎真實電影的攝影，捕捉到Ian Curtis明星光環下情感的糾葛，很容易發現，罪惡感、羞愧、無力感等反映在Ian Curtis作品裡的主要基調，是他在面對Annik與Deborah的三角感情關係，無力解決之下的另一個宣洩出口。緩慢的節奏，沈靜的影像緩緩流動，可說是影史上最為內斂的搖滾電影，卻恰如其份的對應Ian Curtis的內在性格。（CONTROL 5/2即將上映！）

I feel pretty bad for the people who have to control traffic downtown. The hordes of people who need to cross the streets in the loop pretty much just ignore their directions and do whatever they want.
This particular yellow clad woman in front of yellow barricades had the most horrid assignment. It was her job to direct the people crossing over to the Macy's on State Street.
This corner was much more active on the mid-February day when this was taken than it was when I went down there on Christmas to take some similar shots.
Okay, People always ask me "What do you want to do when you leave school?" when I reply become an air traffic controller they ask what they do.... I have made this video using my scanner to give a glimpse.
