Carmelo Cappello (Ragusa 1912 - Milan 1996) is an Italian sculptor, painter, printmaker, illustrator and draftsman. After his figurative period, he was drawn to Moore's sculpture, moving from Tatlin's Russian Constructivism to the attention to space suggested to him by Brancusi, Pevsner and Gabo. The influence of these cultural movements on his personal oeuvre is reflected in the way in which he organized linear rhythms and volumes. In his work he has a strong preference for curved lines, connected in the circle or emphasized in the ellipse, in a strict equilibrium of two-dimensional relations.

Carmelo Cappello ( Ragusa 1912 – Milaan 1996 ) is een Italiaans beeldhouwer, schilder, graficus, illustrator en tekenaar. Na zijn figuratieve periode voelde hij zich aangetrokken tot het beeldhouwwerk van Moore, waarbij hij van Tatlins Russische constructivisme naar de aandacht voor ruimte ging die hem werd voorgesteld door Brancusi, Pevsner en Gabo. De invloed van deze culturele stromingen op zijn persoonlijk oeuvre is terug te vinden in zijn manier waarop hij lineaire ritmes en volumes organiseerde. In zijn werk heeft hij een uitgesproken voorkeur voor gebogen lijnen, verbonden in de cirkel of benadrukt in de ellips, in een strikt evenwicht van tweedimensionale relaties.

Après sa période figurative, il est attiré par la sculpture de Moore, passant du constructivisme russe de Tatlin à l'attention à l'espace que lui suggèrent Brancusi, Pevsner et Gabo. L'influence de ces mouvements culturels sur son œuvre personnelle se reflète dans la manière dont il organise les rythmes linéaires et les volumes. Dans son travail, il a une forte préférence pour les lignes courbes, reliées dans le cercle ou soulignées dans l'ellipse, dans un équilibre strict de relations bidimensionnelles.

Rusakov Workers Club, Stromynka 6, Moscow. Designed by Konstantin Melnikov and completed in 1929. Cantilevered section is one of three that hold theatre seating areas, but which can be used either separately from the main building or joined together to seat 1,000 people. Original colours of the building were red and white, whilst electric advertising was flashed across the white blocks!

Originally called "chemistry game" we decided on a name and are now pursuing a bit of a different angle. This style is heavily based on El Lissitzky's abstract work (as well as constructivist typefaces and etc).

Because visually representing innerspace accurately is a modern impossibility, I thought it might be more interesting to explore an abstract point of view since our idea of innerspace is so abstract anyway.

Here the idea was to reproduce my 'reading' of Rodschenko: The subject itself (as we know it) is not important but as an icon, as text, a slogan or a trade mark in a poster.

Please note that despite I hate using signatures on the images I included them here as an extra mean of stressing my theory adding and extra iconic object to the design.
