Telč is a old beautiful town from 13th Century, known for it´s conserved renaissance architecture. A UNESCO World Heritage Site from 1992.
Coventry Transport Museum opened in 1980, after it became clear that the road transport collection was outgrowing the space it occupied in the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum. The Museum’s current collection of vehicles is acknowledged as being one of the finest in the world, and the largest in public ownership.
The Museum’s collection consists of motor cars, commercial vehicles, cycles and motorcycles. In addition, extensive collections of automobilia, books, photographs and a wealth of other archive material is held and conserved at the Coventry History Centre at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum.
Cuyahoga Valley National Park conserves and reclaims the rural landscape along the Cuyahoga River between Akron and Cleveland in Northeast Ohio's Cuyahoga and Summit counties.
The 32,572-acre (50.9 square mile) park is administered by the National Park Service, but within its boundaries are areas independently managed as county parks or as public or private businesses. Cuyahoga Valley was originally designated as a National Recreation Area in 1974, then redesignated as a national park 26 years later in 2000, and remains the only national park that originated as a national recreation area.
Cuyahoga Valley is the only national park in the state of Ohio and one of three in the Great Lakes Basin, with Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior and Indiana Dunes National Park bordering Lake Michigan. Cuyahoga Valley also differs from the other national parks in the U.S. in that it is adjacent to two large urban areas and it includes a dense road network, small towns, and public and private attractions.

The balustrade of the palace has been remodeled, conserving the murals by Diego Rivera that adorn the main stairwell and the walls of the second floor.
In the stairwell is a mural depicting the history of Mexico from 1521 to 1930 and covers an area of 450 m2. These murals were painted between 1929 and 1935, jointly titled "The Epic of the Mexican People". The work is divided like a triptych with each being somewhat autonomous. The right-hand wall contains murals depicting pre-Hispanic Mexico and centers around the life of the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl.
In the middle and largest panel, the Conquest is depicted with its ugliness, such as rape and torture, as well as priests defending the rights of the indigenous people. The battle for independence occupies the uppermost part of this panel in the arch. The American and French invasions are represented below this, as well as the Reform period and the Revolution.
The left-hand panel is dedicated to early and mid-20th century, criticizing the status quo and depicting a Marxist kind of utopia.
Diego also painted 11 panels on the middle floor, such as the "Tianguis of Tlatelolco" (tianguis means "market"), and the "Arrival of Hernán Cortés in Veracruz".

Conserving Diamonds
Conservators are typically depicted with gloves, carrying out very delicate work on precious works of art. However, Objects Conservators often work on very large artworks, such as sculptures in public spaces. Neil Dawson’s Diamonds, colloquially known as ‘the globe’, is one of our most popular and well-known sculptures. Suspended high above the street with eight sets of cables between the buildings of the High Court of Australia and the NGA, the sculpture is constructed from sections of aluminium mesh joined together to form a very open structure.
Although made of very strong and durable materials, the sculpture is subject to atmospheric conditions and needs regular checking and engineering certification to ensure public safety. It also requires cleaning, as it regularly becomes a nesting spot for a brave local currawong who leaves a beautifully constructed nest made of sticks inside the sphere. After the nesting season is over the nest is removed – not a small feat at 26 metres above street level!
A conserved ruin of a gothical castle, later rebuilt in renaissance style. It is a rare type of a castle/chateau hybrid founded in 1381, with more emphasis on comfort and less on defense. The defense tower was lower than normal, the windows were large, the palace was accesible directly from the first courtyard. The brugrave from Křivoklát Castle built himself a castle which was very progressive and ahead of it´s time. It was devastated in the Thirty Year War, but renewed, and got a new red ceramic roof, due to which it was then also known as Red Castle. A flash started a large fire in 1783, which completely destroyed the castle, and it was not renewed. Conservation work began in 1915, the ruin is very popular by tourists and film makers. The wooden bridge was made after the original one, in medieval style and only with historical carpentry axes, it was laid in the place with a medieval wooden crane made the same way - it was a experiment to test medieval technologies and work processes.

Missing the laughter
" Our laughter kept the feathers in the air. I thought about birds. Could they fly if there wasn’t someone, somewhere, laughing?"

pastrychefonline.com/?p=9208 Buttermilk Mascarpone Stracciatella with Balsamic Strawberry Conserve. An intensely summery, well-balanced ice cream. It gets creaminess from mascarpone, a bit of a tang from the buttermilk and a deep, complex fruitiness from the conserve. This is a great use for strawberries that might be a bit past their prime.
Winter Plum Conserve made with organic Italian plums, lime, golden raisins, walnuts, cognac, ginger root, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom.

Mitigate the peak oil issue through conservation of oil used in transportation. Bicycles are an alternate source of transportation that is widely used and encouraged in our area. Public transport buses have bike racks in the front. This encourages people to take a combination of both for their commute.
For MSH August 2008 - peak oil.
Beetroot & Cranberry Conserve is tangy, sweet and slightly earthy, not to mention a brilliant colour! A nice Chianti makes it a little savoury, perfect for the holidays.

* severe ABF cutbacks update *
A long-running tradition of Thursday fun, food, displays, student performances, etc etc normally held each year at Memorial Park has been cancelled due to drastic cuts to public community entertainment made by Town of Kentville ? And so ever since 2017 there's only an empty Park on Wednesdays and Thursdays at Kentville's Memorial Park during the Apple Blossom Festival ?
.
A great Tom Petty Tribute Band was brought in to entertain the audience and to highlight the Friday night concert,,

Some bad news - Drastic cutbacks to public entertainment by the Town of Kentville will punish citizens and end the enjoyment of these guest Tribute band performances ? In an ongoing decline in content and quality of Kentville town entertainment, all normal mid-week public displays and entertainment that were always held at Memorial Park during the Apple Blossom Festival week have been curtailed by a new generation of administrators ? These Cost saving frugal decisions will conserve Town money by inflicting public entertainment cut-backs on citizens ?
More bad news, Drastic cutbacks by the Town of Kentville will end a long-time tradition of mid week Apple blossom open public entertainment normally held each year during the Apple Blossom Festival down at Memorial Park ? And so ever since these major entertainment cancellations backs in 2017, instead of an interesting and fun filled evening for the residents of Kentville, there's just a silent empty Park on Wednesdays and Thursdays at Kentville's Memorial Park during the Apple Blossom Festival ? No explanation, replacement, substitution or apology was ever offered ?

Corporate frugality and mean miserliness is shown by the new Apple Blossom Festival Directors in 2025 ?
