Truth is a double-edged sword. We long for it, yet are afraid of the consequences. Everyone faces such questions: How truthful must I be? Will I be ostracized for speaking the truth? Will I hurt those I love? Does it even matter in the grand scheme of things? We spend hours, years, agonizing over revealing the truth about ourselves. The result of hiding one self is half-lived lives, complacency, inaction.
This Sacred Journeys Oriel pendant shows a woman who is powerful, fiery, sensual -- a force to be reckoned with -- and holding a flaming sword. I'll call her the Feminine Creative Principle. She is clean in her lines and her beauty and has a strong inner male, which allows her to see into the heart of a situation and fearlessly goes into motion to remedy it. She sees the truth and her sword cuts through illusions -- her sword is flaming and cauterizes as it cleaves. No hesitancy here. We all carry the ability to act from a place of truth.
I rented a Nikon 28-70/2.8 for a project I have coming up this week, sight unseen. And this monster is what I got.
I put it next to my 50/1.8 just for comparison. It's more than a little ridiculous, no?
Does anyone know if there's possibly an older model that isn't so...insane?

Stars Valley is a natural consequence of wind erosion and rainstorm washing out from the Cenozoic period (2 million years ago) up to now. The valley is located in Berkeh Khalaf Village, about 15 kilometers distance from Qeshm City, Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf. It is a magnificent gallery of natural features, in a depth of 7 to 15 meters below the original plateau, including columns, sharp cones, arches and edges all made from sand and natural cement. Based on locals' beliefs, the valley was formed after the falling of a star many centuries ago; the name of valley is a reference to that incident. Due to the specific shape and arrangement of columns, wind made noise is audible throughout the valley, inducing a mysterious mood. The latter makes locals to believe in ghost traffic through the valley; they avoid entering to the valley during the evening and night.

RELATIONSHIPS CHALLENGES.
It is important to care for oneself because neglecting one's own well-being can lead to negative consequences, such as physical and emotional exhaustion, burnout, and a negative impact on relationships and overall quality of life. Self-care includes activities that promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being, such as exercise, eating well, getting enough sleep, managing stress, and having a social support system. When individuals take care of themselves, they are better able to handle the demands and pressures of life, and they are more able to support and care for others. Additionally, self-care can help to prevent or alleviate the development of mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. Therefore, individuals need to make self-care a priority in order to maintain overall well-being.
Brain injury can significantly impact relationships, causing couples physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. Memory loss, difficulty with communication, physical changes, and emotional changes can all strain the relationship and make it difficult for the couple to connect. Caregiving responsibilities can also be overwhelming, leading to feelings of burnout or resentment. Counseling can provide support and guidance for both the injured person and their loved one to navigate these challenges and find ways to maintain their relationship and intimacy. It can also help the loved one understand the changes in their loved one, navigate practical aspects of caregiving and take care of their well-being. Overall, counseling is an important step in helping couples cope with the aftermath of a brain injury.
A counselor can help a couple navigate the challenges that arise after a brain injury by providing support, guidance, and practical strategies for coping. They can help the injured person and their loved one understand the changes that have occurred due to the brain injury, and provide them with tools for communicating and interacting with one another. Additionally, a counselor can provide guidance on navigating the practical aspects of caregiving, such as managing finances, coordinating medical appointments, and dealing with legal and insurance issues. They can also provide support and coping strategies for the loved one, who may face significant emotional and physical challenges due to their role as a caregiver. Furthermore, they can help the couple adapt to the new circumstances and find ways to maintain the relationship and intimacy despite the challenges caused by the brain injury.

Artist Statement:
In Blindfold of Consequence, I explore the violence of perception — not as blindness, but as obstruction. The material crossing the eyes is not a mask; it is pressure. It drags, adheres, resists. It is the physical manifestation of internal denial, the refusal to see, the moment before collapse or awakening.
The restrained grayscale palette strips away distraction and leaves only surface and bone. The substance becomes sculptural — almost ecclesiastical — a contemporary relic forming over living flesh. This is not about concealment; it is about what happens when identity hardens under tension.
Collectors are not acquiring a portrait — they are acquiring a moment of rupture.

4. .
Establish fast-tract courts to decide all cases of sexual violence within 3 months. .
.
5. .
Orient Judiciary to ensure proper understanding of sexual violence, its causes and consequences. Stop disposal of cases by courts that make the survivor marry the rapist. Serve immediate sentence at end of trial. .
.
6. .
Make gender specific laws on aggravated sexual assaults against women. Legitimize and dignify same sex relationships in the country and then formulate special laws for same-sex sexual assaults. Section 377 which criminalises homosexuality must be scrapped. .
.
7. .
Include crimes like marital rape, acid attack, stripping a woman, parading her naked, mutilation, stalking, and penetrative/non-penetrative sexual assaults committed as part of targeted violence based on caste-community as aggravated sexual assault. .
.
8. .
Sexual assault by police, or personnel of armed forces or paramilitary/other allied forces, as well as such assault and gang rape as part of communal/casteist violence or by private militia (non-state militia), should be recognised as aggravated forms of sexual assault, carrying suitably higher sentence. Scrap Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), which has been used to grant immunity from prosecution to the armed and security forces accused of rape, sexual violence and murder. .
.
9. .
Section 376 A should be deleted, as punishment for sexual assault on a separated wife should not be any less severe as that for ordinary sexual assault. .
.
10. .
Care must be taken not to criminalise consensual activity between young girls above 16 years of age and young boys. .
.
11. .
Provide no immunity or need for prior sanction to security forces or public servants from prosecution for sexual assaults. .
.
12. .
Run consecutive rather than concurrent sentence. Increase punishment to a minimum of life imprisonment and incrementally add years for continuum of crime or each separate crime. .
.
13. .
Make speedy and better conviction rate the deterrent, not death penalty or chemical castration because: .
.
a. .
This may further reduce the already low conviction rate. .
.
b. .
It may increase pressure upon survivor/victim and further lower the reporting of rape since over 96% are committed by known persons including relatives. .
.
c. .
It may subject women to greater danger of murder to eliminate evidence and testimony. .
.
d. .
Powerful perpetrators especially those in the state may ensure that cases are not registered. .
.
e. .
Chemical castration is based on the faulty assumption that sex androgens rather than gender/social inequities lie at the root of sexual offenses against women.Such a punishment would be yet another denial of the gendered basis of crimes against women. .

Enact a law against Honour Crimes: We urge the government to incorporate specific provisions relating to "honour killings", prevalent in particularly in the northern and western states. Apart from a provision that addresses killing in the name of honour, the law should address the range of violent and abusive acts designed to stop women from exercising her right to choose her partner in marriage or have a relationship outside her caste or community or religion. In many cases, caste, Khap or community based panchayats and the couple's parents, uncles, etc., either acting together or alone, harass and intimidate anyone who disobeys them by various acts such as: banishing the couple and/or their families, by exiling them from their homes; by declaring a couple brother and sister; by levelling illegal fines; by imposing social and/or economic boycott on them or their family, and several other acts. There are no provisions in the penal code that deal with these acts, or with those who glorify them. Instead frequently, false charges of kidnapping are registered and acted on by the police; therefore any amendments must also devise means by which the police is held accountable. Provision must be made for protective homes where the couple can take shelter to escape the wrath of her relatives or those conspiring with them. .

B) Procedural .
1. .
Institute gender sensitive protocols and training for medical examination and preparation of medical report by doctors. .
.
2. .
Immediately discard the unscientific and arbitrary two-finger test that determines if the victim/survivor is habituated to sex. The Supreme Court as well as Delhi HC have ruled against this practice, yet it is a shame that it persists, whereby the rape survivor is subjected to a medical rape in the name of examination, and is judged based on her past sexual behaviour, which ought to be irrelevant to the rape complaint. .
