I am visiting Algeciras, Southern Spain - yet I can access my private & business email easily, receive text messages, view Flickr and sometimes people even call to speak to me.

This is all a far cry from my first visits here in the early 1990's - the company didn't issue expensive mobile phones to all personnel and even then the functionality was limited. Communications to home were limited to 1 call per week (you could call more, but was at your cost). I sent numerous hand written letters to my Fiancée (now Wife) from Spain via the postal system.

When being connected via a device become more important then being able to connect in person.......

The thought of exploring among these fins had me drooling. I had just left the end of a hiking-only road connected to the Moab Rim Trail and was starting a cross-country hike/scramble that I hoped would take me to Tear Drop Arch. From here a zigzag route (95% hiking; 5% scrambling) took me about "five rows of fins" to the right. The route-finding---aided by print-outs of Bing Maps aerial views---was fun.
