Europe, Netherlands, Zuid Holland, Leiden, Center, Lammermarkt Parking (JHK), Cars (uncut)
The Lammermarkt parking (JHK architects 2017) can accomadate 525 cars. It’depth is 22m and there are 7 levels, configured in a spiral.
This is what the JHK wrote about the facility “Although parking is not a goal in itself, parking in parking garage Lammermarkt is an experience in itself. The typology of the round parking garage means that all floors are spatially connected to each other. Although the depth is emphasized and visible, this spaciousness forms the basis for a socially safe environment that feels pleasant and comfortable. The light-filled parking garage excels in functionality and comfort. The routing is clear, the parking spaces are wide and the stairs and elevators are easily found. There is no intersecting traffic and traffic with one-way traffic is maximal.
In a spiral, the motorist drives down and automatically comes across an empty parking space. There is therefore no search traffic. A timeline on the footpaths guides the pedestrian to the lifts and the stairwell. You can pocket or rise one floor per century. Important moments from the century in question are depicted on the back wall of the garage, where half a floor has been created for a work of art that takes the visitor into Leiden's history. These illustrations by graphic designer Tom van der Heiden are not only beautifully narrative but also contribute to the recognisability and orientation in the garage. They help in retrieving the car. In the lift hall the artworks are once again explained with references to places in the contemporary city that can be visited. As a pedestrian you leave the parking garage through a round pavilion on the ground level. By means of an open staircase, a generous connection is made with the administration space and the parking floor on the first floor below ground level. The city of Leiden and the De Valk windmill leave the car park as a result of the curved and five-meter high glass façade.” (Source: JHK architecten)

The Claymore heavy fighter is designed to engage capital ships. It is typically deployed from carriers where it is transported in a folded configuration, stacked in racks of eight.
It is armed with two dual plasma projectile cannons. The cannons can be configured to shoot short salvos where the four cannons fire in succession, or they can fire a single coordinated shot with devastating power.
Because of it's thin profile the Claymore is hard to hit from forward and behind. A capital ship without escort will not last many minutes against a wing of these.

Built for SHIPtember 2021!
Length: 44 studs
Width: 64 studs
Height: 106 studs
With only a few days left before september 1, I decided to build my verison of a concept by Theo Stylianides:
I've wanted to build it for some time but didn't really know if I could pull of the delicate design.
I had to rebuild it many times during the month. Because I wanted it so thin, it was hard to assemble all the parts. At one point the whole ship just broke apart and I had to rebuild everything. The vertical body of the ship is only 1 stud thick, but built with SNOT-bricks so I can attach plates on the sides. The black stripe on the side on the ship plus the engines are what's keeping it together. The upper and lower part are held together with a technic tructure that also contains the mechanism for folding the wings.
There is a small doodle on the original concept art that suggests the "wings" can be folded. I didn't know if I should bother with it, but I thought it would make the ship a bit more interesting if I could manage that feature. So after much experimentation I was able to build a mechanism that folds one wing up and the other one down.
An other thing that gave me problems during the build process was gravity. Again. The design makes it very tail heavy. My original plan was to just make it stand on the cannons, but that would have made the whole ship tip over backwards. The solution was to build a stand for it. It's not really that pretty. I might have to redesign the stand later.
I've spent many late nights on this. Sacrificing sleep. It was fun, but now I'm fed up with it! 😄
Thanks to everyone who helped me and gave me feedback!

Same multiway dress as before but configured yet another way.
I do like this style as it has a kind of retro feel. not sure if its formal 60s or 70s, Maybe the kind of thing a bond girl would have worn before it ended up on the hallway floor. Or was that what happened to the bond girl??
Some of the dresses those actresses wore where amazing. Might have to watch all bond films and do my top ten dresses.

While taking a break from re-configuring the pallet garden boxes at the cottage, we heard the familiar tap-tap-tap of a woodpecker. At first I thought it was a Downy, but further research has me thinking it's a male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.

A Denver & Rio Grande Western freight rounds the curve just north of Big Horn Peak at Milepost 299.7, as it works east toward Antonito, CO and eventually, Alamosa. The road engine this afternoon is the 1903-vintage, K-27 Mikado #463, with an ancient T-12 10-wheeler #167 helping on the point.
This image was captured during an October 2024 photo shoot on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, organized by Lerro Photography. This particular day the featured power was a re-creation of a 1930-era lash-up including the only operable survivor of the T-12 Class, the #168, lettered and configured as her long-lost sister #167, and the venerable K-27 "Mudhen" #463. Originally, the 1883-era, T-12 engines had box-type headlights, but by 1930, most of the survivors would have been configured with a Pyle National headlamp, like the one see in this image.
