1. I am thankful that I have been catching myself finding excuses to say to myself or aloud, “I love my life!” every single day! Usually during my morning walk! :)
2. I am so very thankful for air conditioning! Oh my.
3. I am thankful for how my personal music player always seems to play the perfect song at the right mood! :)
4. I am thankful for seeing new critters and things that fly in Wascana Park that I had never seen before. I was in the right place at the right time on Sunday to see baby beavers and a mink! :) We have some fascinating birds and butterflies too! :)
5. I am thankful for the open public washrooms throughout Wascana Park because they extend the time, distance and pleasantness of my wanderings! :)
6. I am thankful that it is the season for so many fresh fruits and vegetables! So beautiful and yummy! :)
7. I am thankful I was able to harvest the first five fruits from my tomato plant! YAY! :)
8. I am thankful for the beauty and grace of the huge Pelicans that fly formation(s) over the downtown areas around 8am! :) I swear I will remember to take my zoom lens with me at just the perfect time! ;)
9. I am thankful for how Shiva Nata shakes stuff loose from my brain so I can communicate it more effectively!
10. I am thankful for the new things I have tried with food this week. The things I enjoyed trying are:
* popcorn stove-top-popped with grapeseed oil (I liked it so much that I didn’t even add salt and butter like I usually do.)
* a generous squeeze of fresh lemon in chili a few minutes before I serve it. I like how the lemon made the tomato nicely tangy and go well with the hot/spicy like how it works in a curry.
* a small bit of specialty mustard with spaghetti sauce, serve garnished with fresh basil.
* pancakes made with egg replacement powder stuff made the pancakes crisper when hot and kind of like injera when cold. I also liked the feeling of increased food safety by not using raw egg when the house is so warm. It also gave me the idea that if I made cookies with egg replacement stuff then I could have raw cookie dough again! :) (Raw meat and meat products are not recommended with people that are immuno-compromised.)
11. I am thankful that I was able to have my first afternoon nap in over seven years! It was grand! I feel like me again! SILENT RETREAT on why I was physically unable to nap until now .. just know that my being able to nap again is a very good thing! :) YAY me! :)
12. I am thankful for the person that I follow on Pinterest that pinned a placard saying, “The past prevents the future”. Although reading it I felt really angry in a, “WTF is this person thinking What a load of crap!” sort of way .. but now I find the usefulness in seeing the pin! My first reaction to note was that it says that my first transplant would have prevented the gloriousness of my current transplant. Not in my world! It also says that because my mother and sisters have gray and white hair that it would prevent me from having brown hair. Not in my world! It says that a person that had that extra banana-nut muffin yesterday is prevented from having a joyous life now. Not in my world! Then it got me thinking about other things that haven’t gone how I wanted them to go in the past .. had I been using them as an excuse to not let good things come to me now? Hmm, maybe the thing that really bugged me about the placard was that I WAS using past stuff as an excuse! Guess I can stop doing that now! ;)
Thank you for you. To quote Hugh MacLeod, “This is totally stupid. This is utterly moronic. This is a complete waste of time. I’m going to do it anyway.” If it feels better to do it, go ahead, you can always change when it no longer feels better/good to do it. Like I’ve said before, it is okay if you don’t know right this red hot minute. You are figuring stuff out as you go. There is more evidence everyday. You can tell in the way you feel. It does get better the better it gets. Keep on keeping on and remember to take care of you and your loving ones. :)

Saona Island is located in the extreme southeast of the Dominican Republic. It is part of the Parque Nacional del Este and is known for its mangroves, coral reefs, and palm-fringed beaches, such as La Palmilla. The shallow waters of the island are home to starfish. A lampost near me, one of many similar.
I love the way the layers all show.
I expect some folk will think it should be repainted, but that will be a waste of council tax, as they will all eventually be replaced.

This is a photograph from the eight annual Donadea 50KM Ultramarathon which was held in Donadea Forest, Donadea, Naas, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Saturday 11th February 2017 at 10:00. The race was also an International Association of Ultrarunners Silver Label Event and the Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI) National 50KM Championships. The race completes 10 loops of a very well known 5KM trail around the circumference of the forest. Most of this trail is in very good condition with good conditions underfoot for the entire 5KM stretch. The start-finish area is located close to the coffee shop area in the center of the park beside the now ruined and abandoned Donadea Castle. This year, like all previous events, was a fantastic event with great support around the course for the athletes. However the structure of the course with the repeated loops makes a great atmosphere for the runners themselves with great camaraderie being shown amongst all of the competitors. This is one of the most popular 50KM races in Ireland. A garmin GPS link is available here connect.garmin.com/activity/70206204
About 180 people finished the race in the time limit of 5 hours. The big factor in today's race was the bitter cold weather. While the weather was dry it was very cold with the air temperature struggling to reach more than 3 or 4 degrees celsius. But the wind chill made it feel much much colder. However the cold weather of the past number of days meant that the track all around the 5KM loop was very dry and firm underfoot.

Where is Donadea?. Donadea Forest Park is situated in rural north Kildare and is approximately 640 acres in size. The amenities at the forest include good walking trails, a diversity of natural habitats, a walled stream, a large natural lake, and the ruins of Donadea castle. The Park is a designated National Heritage Area. The basic designation for wildlife is the Natural Heritage Area (NHA). This is an area considered important for the habitats present or which holds species of plants and animals whose habitat needs protection. Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs
We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?
The explaination is very simple.
Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.
ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.
Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/
I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
Don't like your photograph here?
That's OK! We understand!
If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.
I want to tell people about these great photographs!
Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

A few weeks further on, and so about 5m below the deep shelter entrance, the two sound mirros have been uncovered, and are in superb condition.
It is a bit of a scramble down to the sound mirrors, but it was worth it.
------------------------------------------------------
Two sound mirrors survive on the White Cliffs to the east of Dover in Kent. These are constructed a different way to the other surviving mirrors, being set into a hillside.
According to the National Trust, the first mirror dates from approximately 1917. It is 15 feet high, cut into the chalk cliff and lines with concrete. Surviving records show it was in use during World War I to detect incoming aircraft in 1917-18. The sound mirror worked by concentrating sound waves into a central point, where they were picked up by a listening apparatus facing the curved surface. An operator who was specially trained to distinguish different sounds would be stationed at the front of the sound mirror, and use a stethoscope to listen for aircraft.
The second mirror is thought to date from 1920-29. It was built in a similar way to the older mirror, but is larger at 20 feet high.
The two mirrors were buried in spoil by the council in the 1970s as part of a campaign to clear up the local area. The land was purchased by the National Trust in 2012 after a public appeal raised £1.2 million.
On 3 May 2014 volunteers from the Dover Archaeological Group, the Canterbury Archaeological Trust and the National Trust dug several trenches to locate the mirrors.
This project was part-funded by a £15 000 Landscape Heritage Grant from the Heritage Lottery-funded Up on the Downs Landscape Partnership Scheme, and was also supported by donations from the Subterranea Britannica archaeological society.
Happily, the dig found that “the Fan Hole sound mirror complex remains around 90% complete, preserved below dumped 1970s soil and rubble”, and “only fairly limited restoration work would be required to stabilise these structures and leave them open for permanent display”.
The National Trust plans to have the site open to the public in 2015.
