Harpa is a concert hall and convention center located in Reykjavik, Iceland. Its design is influenced by columnar basalt that is pervasive in Iceland due to its volcanic origins.

There are three design motifs on the interior (and exterior) of this building. This is the second of the three motifs, which is found on the walls.

The real music is the silence and all the notes are only framing this silence.

ENG: The Gendarmenmarkt dates back to the 17th century and is a square in the historic centre of Berlin, which is generally regarded as "Berlin's most beautiful square". In the centre is the former Royal Theatre, flanked on the south side by the German Cathedral and on the north side by the French Cathedral.

The square was built in 1688 according to plans by Johann Arnold Nering as part of the Friedrichstadt, which Elector Friedrich III, later King Friedrich I of Prussia, had built at the end of the 17th century. In this historic quarter settled a large part of the French immigrants (Huguenots), to whom the Great Elector Friedrich Wilhelm of Brandenburg with the Edict of Potsdam in 1685 had assured the protection of their religious freedom and full citizenship.

The Konzerthaus Berlin is a concert hall situated on the Gendarmenmarkt square in the central Mitte district of Berlin housing the German orchestra Konzerthausorchester Berlin. Built as a theatre from 1818 to 1821 under the name of the Schauspielhaus Berlin, its usage changed to a concert hall after the Second World War and its name changed to its present one in 1994 (see Wikipedia).

A nighttime shot from the Tyne Bridge, itself quite a landmark, connecting Newcastle (left bank of the River Tyne here) with Gateshead (right bank). This showcases the new Tyneside that began to emerge about the turn of the 21st Century, to some extent a showcase for postmodern architecture.

The Gateshead Millennium Bridge is a pedestrian and cyclist tilt bridge spanning the River Tyne between the Gateshead arts quarter on the south bank and the Quayside of Newcastle upon Tyne on the north bank. Opened for public use in 2001, the award-winning structure was conceived and designed by architectural practice WilkinsonEyre and structural engineering firm Gifford. The bridge is sometimes referred to as the 'Blinking Eye Bridge' or the 'Winking Eye Bridge' due to its shape and its tilting method.

Sage Gateshead is a concert venue, opened in 2004. It was designed by Foster and Partners, the practice of Norman Foster. The curved glass and stainless steel building contains three performance spaces; a 1,700-seater, a 450-seater, and a smaller rehearsal and performance hall.

Nicknamed "the durians" as the two "domes" resemble that tropical fruit, it's the venue for classical music concerts and performances in Singapore. Before it was completed, some Singaporeans would travel all the way to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to enjoy the concerts at the philharmonic hall at the base of the Petronas Twin Towers.

A small group of photographers were allowed to photograph this theatre yesterday. It was built in 1927. We were fortunate to have this lovely organ on stage as well. Used Nik software to create this tonality. Thank you for your appreciation, Gail

Frankfurt is one of the few European cities with a large cluster of high rise building in its downtown area; in many other European cities, skyscraper construction was not well received in the past due to the historical value of existing buildings. For this reason, Frankfurt is sometimes referred to as "Mainhattan" (a portmanteau of the local Main river and Manhattan), and Chicago am Main.
