FAN-DANGO, a bit of a wordplay, LOL

A photographer friend asked an interesting question, why do YOU take photographs?

One answer for me is I love the challenge, and it still and always is!

Now it is with lighting, different objects and making it all work together the way I want it, and still be surprised, ALWAYS thrilled.

Another prop of Summer, these things bring back memories from deep within... your childhood... paper flowers, decorations, bunting?

Paper fans.

How can I resist, such superb colours, another photo begging to be taken.

Thank you for ALL your comments and visits, so appreciated.

Have a wonderful day, filled with love and beauty, M, (*_*)

The rain-damaged flowers had opened in full glory.

More from our garden, with all the rain we've had it is difficult to find flowers that have not been damaged...

The Cranesbill is really the TRUE Geranium, what we too often call Geranium is the Pelargonium, with flower heads and not hardy like these.

The name "cranesbill" derives from the appearance of the seed-heads, which have the same shape as the bill of a crane.

Have a super day and thank you, M, (*_*)

yes, the were first Parrot Tulips of the season.

The petals shimmered like silk, unreal, but they are fresh!

The closer you look, the more you discover.

Their textures are so interesting and intricate, a joy for my eyes.

Never had them in this colour before, new varieties all the time.

A strong and healthy flower.

Love them or hate them, Parrot Tulips are Spring's grand (bulb) showcase, big and beautiful, they are flamboyant flowers with streaks, ruffles and frayed edges.

No, NOT the latest new band... but juicy, crunchy peppers! So colourful.

They are tiny, about 4/5 cm max, best stuffed as tapas

Chiquino peppers are from Mexico, look like small bell peppers but have a sweeter taste, but fear not despite their size they are not chillies and therefore not hot.

Thanks, M, (~ _ *)

The Brueghels are back.

A typical Yorkshire Dales' view, with old gnarled trees, the sheep and the ever ongoing dry-stone walls drawing dark dividing lines through the land.

The light was golden, the air crisp and clear, I love Winter.

It reminds me of the paintings of the Brueghel's.

Since it was taken with 400 asa film, I reduced the grain for once, however the main reason was to get that 'paint' effect that the famous Flemish painter's family BRUEGHEL and others put in their paintings.

This was how I saw it, a bright sky and some mystery in the trees, the cold wind gently blurring my tear-filled eyes.

This image is an artistic interpretation.

Such delight., blowing kisses…

A beautiful opening Rosebud.

A Rose, named Just Joey, in our garden.

It was, like all flowers: imperfect…

I have yet, after thousands of flowers find a 'perfect' one.... just like people? LOLOLOL

Still, it is slowly unfolding and yielding us its beauty and fragrance in the evening...

In Citizen Kane, when wealthy media magnate Charles Foster Kane (played by Orson Welles) dies, he utters the enigmatic word "Rosebud"...

Edward Elgar's Sospiri op. 70 - Sol Gabetta

Sospiri, Op. 70, is an adagio for string orchestra, harp (or piano), and organ (or harmonium) composed by Edward Elgar just before the beginning of World War I.

While composing it, however, he realised that he was writing something more intense, and so chose an Italian word, sospiri, meaning "sighs".

Spring River Flowers Moon Night…

The river is smooth and calm this evening,

The peony flowers bloom.

The moon floats on the current.

The tide carries the stars.

— Qian Qi (Tang Dyanasty)

A romantic flower, this peony starts pink and ends ever so pale.

The Greeks believed they could cure over 20 ailments and were found in every monastery garden.

Peonies have been cultivated for over 2,000 years, more for their medicinal qualities than for ornament.

The Japanese protect the earliest peony blooms from the snow by protecting them with individual small thatched shelters. Some geishas used to wear special peony colours.

The Chinese name for peony is "sho yu" which means "most beautiful" and they idolised this flower.

The common thread is that the flower always denotes luxury and indulgence.

Went for again for a dramatic lighting, to make them 'different' from other flower images...

My favourite... Lol, thanx for your time and comments, M, (*_*)

Lightly Salmon Pink.

The rose is the most popular flower of all.

No other plant has had such a rich and romantic heritage as the rose, and no other flower has been interpreted in nearly as many ways as the rose.

The most common emotion associated with the rose is affection and love.

Ornithogalum is a genus of perennial plants mostly native to southern Europe and southern Africa, belonging to the family Asparagaceae.

Some species are native to other areas such as the Caucasus.

Growing from a bulb, species have linear basal leaves and a slender stalk, up to 30 cm tall, bearing clusters of typically white star-shaped flowers, often striped with green.

The common name of the genus, Star-of-Bethlehem, is based on its star-shaped flowers.

The number of species has varied considerably, depending on authority, from 50 to 300.

This here is ORNITHOGALUM ARABICUM.

A pincushion Protea

Protea is both the botanical name and the English common name of a genus of flowering plants, sometimes also called sugarbushes.

The genus Protea was named in 1735 by Carolus Linnaeus after the Greek god Proteus who could change his form at will, because proteas have such different forms.

Proteas attracted the attention of botanists visiting the Cape of Good Hope in the 1600s.

Together with the Springbok Antelope, the Protea had been treated as a sometimes controversial national symbol in South Africa, both during and after apartheid.

I photographed this in the studio, playing with lights yet again, flags and cutters...

I wanted it to look like fireworks.

Hope you enjoy it? Thanx, M, (*_*)

I love Buddleia, white or purple because it attracts all the butterflies.

Little did I know that there was this ‘orange ball’ variety, I bought it, and to my amazement, it attracts bumble-bees, hundreds at the time.

I have images with up to five bees on one flower.

You can safely sit next to it and you won’t be bothered by them.

The flowers are small, the heads only about 1 1/2 cm diameter, they smell of honey, quite a heady fragrance, they don’t last very long, especially not with rain.

They dry up, and become like honeycombs.

Warning: Not a shrub for the smaller garden!

Lilium longiflorum. And I have a demanding presence! Also a most pleasant fragrance.

This plant is native to Japan and the Ryukyu Islands. It is a stem rooting lily, growing up to 1 m high and bears a number of trumpet shaped, white, very fragrant, and outward facing flowers.

I love the subtle tones, all the varied tones, that give the flower/petals/stems their texture, depth and form, their delectable shapes accentuated, extracted and emphasised without the colour. Don't you agree?

A jester, court jester, or fool, was historically an entertainer during the medieval and Renaissance eras who was a member in the household of a nobleman or a monarch employed to entertain him and his guests.

A jester was also an itinerant performer who entertained common folk at fairs and markets.

The Medieval jester's cloth hat, called a Fool's hat/cap , was most distinctive consisting of three points with a jingle bell at the end of each point.

Another ‘novelty’ in the tulip world, no name yet, all it said was specialty tulips… to me they look like court-jesters, lol

Fuchsia, free, fun, they dance to the tune and rhythm of the wind.

Fuchsia flowers from the garden. So delicate and pretty and in one of my favourite colour-combinations!

Fuchsia is a genus of flowering plants that consists mostly of shrubs or small trees.

The first, Fuchsia triphylla, was discovered on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola (present day Dominican Republic and Haiti) in 1703 by the French Minim monk and botanist, Charles Plumier.

He named the new genus after the renowned German botanist Leonhart Fuchs

The vast majority of garden hybrids have all descended from a few parent species.

Feathery soft.

The bud opened slowly into this beauty...

The peony is the only genus in the flowering plant family Paeoniaceae.

They are native to Asia, Southern Europe and western North America but grow very well here too, Peonies are actually very easy to grow; once established they can tolerate drought and suffer from very few diseases.

Colours range from pure white through baby pinks and palest peaches to clear deep pink and darkest rich maroon.

There is also a pale yellow but it is rare.

Peonies are only available between late May and early July, so get them while you can!

They are very thirsty flowers, so make sure you top up the vase or bowl.

LOL, I had these 6 glass, coloured ‘test’ tubes, and a big pack of feathers

I separated the plumes, and had some fun in the studio with them.

When finished, I saw the holder with the coloured glass, stored the feathers in them and was HIT by the visual: THE IMAGE!

So it goes…

I am not gay… these just happened to be the colours of the rainbow, which the gay community ‘appropriated’, making it sometimes more difficult for others to use these colours, without being labeled.

Well, I come un-labeled! LOL

I will do as I like, as you can tell by this creation from studio Indigo..

Sambucus is a genus of flowering plants in the family Adoxaceae.

The various species are commonly called elder or elderberry/elderflower.

The flowers of Sambucus nigra are used to produce elderflower cordial.

St-Germain, an American liqueur with faux-French branding, is made from elderflowers.

Hallands Fläder, a Swedish akvavit, is flavoured with elderflowers.

Despite the similarity in name, the Italian liqueur sambuca is mostly made with star anise and fennel essential oils extracted by vapour distillation.

It also contains elderflower extracts with which it is flavoured to add a floral note, to smooth and round off the strong liquorice flavour.

I created a propeller with the ‘maple-copters’.

More fun from Studio Indigo, lol.

INFO:

Also found under a tree in bonnie Scotland.

Maple trees (Acer) produce winged seeds called double samaras, which twirl to the ground in late summer or early fall.

They resemble helicopters in motion, earning them the common name of helicopters or whirligigs.

The seeds vary slightly in size and colouring among species, but all produce winged seeds affectionately called helicopters.

The innocent fun you could have with those twirly thingies, throwing them up, running after them (kept us fit!), guarding and treasuring your 'best' ones!

Every Autumn beautiful, unusual small nuts appear in the British larder.

They are not dissimilar to a hazelnut, but should not be mistaken for them; the Cobnut is a nut in its own right.

They are super-delicious fresh but can also be dried and eaten later in the season.

Cobnuts, filberts, hazelnuts are all varieties of the Corylus family.

They grow in Britain and can be found fresh from early Autumn, or dried and processed for using year round.

Cobnuts are very distinctive in their pretty, downy cover which, when fresh, is easy to remove as is the shell of the young nut.

Once they begin to dry the shell toughens yet will still only need a sharp tap to break.

When young, the green cobnuts have a taste very similar to coconut and as they mature and become golden, they are much sweeter and juicier.

yes I am a big fan of white lilies...

Lilium longiflorum.

This plant is native to Japan and the Ryūkyū Islands.

It is a stem rooting lily, growing up to 1 m high and bears a number of trumpet shaped, white, very fragrant, and outward facing flowers.

Thank you for your time and comments, M, (*_*)

None of my work is Ai assisted and is copyright Rg Sanders aka Ronald George Sanders.

Bi-toned beauties, non-fragrant, but who cares, their texture and colours make up for it.

Wishing you well and stay safe

Have a wonderful day and thank you for your visit, M, (*_*)

These Parrot Tulips are lip-reaching out, in multiple kisses, with passion, for the artist.

Bi-colored Rococo parrot tulips with twisted, irregularly fringed petals, they are weird even a little 'alien'?

Are they "monstrous beauty or beautiful monster"?

Love them or hate them, big and beautiful, they have flamboyant flowers with streaks, ruffles and frayed edges.

Have a glorious day and thanx, M, (*_*)

I love Ranunculus, especially the orange ones, densely layered, and this bloom opened beautifully, not always evident, their stems are extremely delicate and do tend to just collapse before the bud can open into a gorgeous voluptuous bloom...

Not this golden beauty.

With love to you and thank you for ALL your faves and comments, M, (* _ *)

These 'fofolles' expressed exuberance, joy de vivre, plumes and glitzy glamour????? Haha...
