Such a lovely combination of colours, shape and textures.

There are three classes of people: those who see, those who see when they are shown, those who do not see.
Leonardo da Vinci
Three of a kind... later tulips, a special red.
Bendy bowing they were.
Each time I think... that's it, there's only so much you can do with flowers... and yet again and again, I'll see something new.
Being creative is not a choice... it is an urge in me.

Gladiolus flowers bloom on a long spike that ranges from 2 to 4 feet tall.
These beauties open from the bottom and work their way upwards creating a long spire of blooms.
The grass-like foliage resembles the blade of a sword giving these flowers a reputation as sword flowers.
The blooms range in colour from bold orange and red to pastel blues, pinks and yellows, lilacs, whites and purple.
The gladiolus flower symbolises honour and remembrance, but it has other meanings too.
It can also symbolise the following:
•Strength of character
•Faithfulness, sincerity and integrity
•Infatuation
•Never giving up
Purple, specifically means: Charm, grace and mysteriousness.
Have a charmed day and thank you, M, (*_*)

This is a re-upload, my most viewed image!
The viola is a large family containing 500 species, they are on record in Greece from the 4th century B.C.
Later in Europe, it was discovered that a plant similar to a viola grew in open areas. The plant found mostly in fields and amongst rocks in the Alps, hence Alpine.
It became known as a wild pansy (French: pensée ). It might have been a romantic Frenchman who 'named' it... A pensée can be a thought or a saying, short or it can be as long as a paragraph, a page, a poem!
Maybe he thought of his loved-one, dried one amongst some book he carried? Juste une pensée... lol.
These delicately fragrant flowers come in a wonderful variety of colours. The dark centres in some flowers are thought to resemble little faces.
These are a smaller variety (a flower not much bigger than my thumbnail!), that I have in the garden, I could not resist photographing them in the studio...
As always, thanx for your lovely comments and thoughts, M, (*_*)

Another one of my 'FLOWER-STUDIES'.
PART II
The second stage!
A personal favourite.
You will find beauty in everything, just look!!!
The back of a Dandelion seed head (clock).
Children LOVE them!
We don't like them in our gardens... AND YET: The dandelion plant is a beneficial weed, with a wide range of uses, and is even a good companion plant for gardening.
Its taproot will bring up nutrients for shallower-rooting plants, and add minerals and nitrogen to soil.
It is also known to attract pollinating insects and release ethylene gas which helps fruit to ripen.
Taraxacum seeds are an important food source for certain birds.
Taraxacum, the common name is dandelion (from French dent-de-lion, meaning "lion's tooth"), after flowering is finished, the dandelion flower head dries out for a day or two.
The dried petals and stamens drop off, the bracts reflex (curve backwards), and the parachute ball opens into a full sphere. Finally, the seed-bearing parachutes expand and lift out of it.
The parachute drops off the achene when it strikes an obstacle.
After the seed is released, the parachutes loose their feathered structure and take on a fuzzy, cotton-like appearance, often called "dandelion snow".Another thing I love about being a photographer, you start looking at things in a 'different' way?
About 'BEAUTY'.. artists sculpt, architects build, painters paint, photographers make images... the 'makers' and 'keepers' of beauty of moment?
Take care, be safe!
Enjoy and make the BEST of every day! Thanks, M, (*_*)

A strawberry is embedded on the outside with seeds.
The same is true for raspberries and blackberries.
Seeds on the outside means they aren't berries...
The garden strawberry (Fragaria) was first bred in Brittany, France, in the 1750s via a cross of Fragaria virginiana from eastern North America and Fragaria chiloensis, which was brought from Chile by Amédée-François Frézier in 1714.
Cultivars of Fragaria × ananassa have replaced, in commercial production, the woodland strawberry (Fragaria vesca), which was the first strawberry species cultivated in the early 17th century.

Last Autumn, when I prepared the garden for its 'hibernation', I collected the last of the flowers/colours.
These were Hydrangea (Hortensias), now inside, they will be dried and look very nice in a bowl.
The small pink flowers formed a corolla/crown around the center of the head.
Of course they had already suffered all kinds of attacks, not just by the weather but by the remaining insects, snails and slugs, nobody wants or likes them, but nature would not survive without them!
So, now I look forward to the season of lights, after the festivities, I'll start looking for the new growth breaking the soil again.
THANK you for viewing, M, (*_*)

A {PARROT} tulip of the season, I saw this one amongst the others.
It had a sense of loneliness.
It looked somewhat lost, also pure, just organic shapes, to bring out what I love, the subtle and varied tones, that give the flower/petals/stems their texture, depth and form, their delectable shapes accentuated, extracted and emphasised the colour through light.

Emerging from the dark, the tulips are back in the shops.
It is way too early for Spring but nevertheless a welcoming note
The Tulip was originally a wild flower growing in the Central Asia and was first cultivated by the Turks as early as 1,000 AD.
In the beginning of the 17th century the tulips were starting to be used as a garden decoration beside the former medicinal purposes. It soon gained major popularity as a trading product, especially in Holland.
The interest for the flower was huge and bulbs were sold for unbelievably high prices. Botanists soon found ways of making it an even more decorative and tempting specimen. Hybrids and mutations of the flower were seen as rarities and a sign of high status. In the months of late 1636 to early 1637 there was a complete ‘Tulip mania’ in the Netherlands. Some examples could cost more than an Amsterdam house at this time. Even ordinary men took part in the business. They saw how much money the upper class got in trading and thought that this was an easy way of getting lots of money at no risk. The bulbs were usually sold by weight while they were still in the ground. The trade with the un-sprouted flower came to be called ‘wind trade’.
The traders made fabulous amounts of money every month, and people started to sell their businesses, family homes, farm animals, furnishings and dowries to participate. The government could not do anything to stop it, the trade was all about access and demand. But finally the tulip did not appear to be quite so rare to justify such high prices. Over-supply led to lower prices and dealers went bankrupt and many people lost their savings because of the trade. This ‘Tulip Crash’ made the government introduce special trading restrictions for the flower. It is said that the flower became so popular because of the bright colours, dramatic flames and frilly petals. To have tulips in one’s home was a way to impress, and when the wealth spread down the social ladder, so did the urge for tulips.
Have FUN, I wish you all the very best and thank you for all your kind words, time, comments, likes and faves. Very much appreciated. M, (*_*)

Two from our garden, colour transition in flowers.
Hydrangea, the name, comes from the Greek words "hydro" or water, and "angeion," or vase = water vase, they prefer a lot of water.
A very ancient plant, found in fossils going back thousands of years.
In most species the flowers are white, but in some species (notably H. macrophylla), they are blue, red, pink, light purple, or dark purple.
In these species the colour is affected by the presence of aluminium ions which are available or tied up depending upon the soil’s pH content.
For H. macrophylla and H. serrata cultivars, the flower colour can be determined by the relative acidity of the soil: an acidic soil (pH below 7), will have available aluminium ions and typically produce flowers that are blue to purple, whereas an alkaline soil (pH above 7) will tie up aluminium ions and result in pink or red flowers.

Almost there.
Fresh conker from a horse chestnut tree.
A wild chestnut found under the tree, I recorded the ‘opening’, over almost 18 days. It was fascinating.
Aesculus hippocastanum is a large tree, commonly known as horse-chestnut or conker tree.
The horse chestnut's fruit is colloquially called a "conker" and refers to the shiny brown, poisonous seed that is protected by a green spiny capsule.

WHEN SWEET CORN IS RIPE….
THE HARVEST IS IN... then, you know it is Autumn… here in Northern Europe at least.
All Summer you see the fields getting higher.
Silk is the name for the pistillate flowers, which emerge from the husk.
The fruit of the sweet corn plant is the corn kernel, a type of fruit called a caryopsis.
The ear is a collection of kernels on the cob.
Because corn is a monocot, there is always an even number of rows of kernels.
The ear is covered by tightly wrapped leaves called the husk.
Sweet corn occurs as a spontaneous mutation in field corn and was grown by several Native American tribes.
The Iroquois gave the first recorded sweet corn (called 'Papoon') to European settlers in 1779.
It soon became a popular food all over.
Another personal favourite, cannot say exactly why...

SILVER BIRCHES
A birch is a thin-leaved deciduous hardwood tree of the genus Betula, in the family Betulaceae, which also includes alders, hazels, and hornbeams.
It is closely related to the beech-oak family Fagaceae.
The genus Betula contains 30 to 60 known taxa of which 11 are on the IUCN 2011 Red List of Threatened Species.
They are a typically rather short-lived pioneer species widespread in the Northern Hemisphere, particularly in northern areas of temperate climates and in boreal climates.
