Jason Miller creates his conceptually driven images in-studio, Memphis, TN. Miller is interested in making imagery that deals with human subjects interrelating and communicating through archaic 20th century artifacts. He works both in single imagery as well as grand format digital montage. Historical topics including Memento mori, Vanitas, and a self-reflection on modern human inventions of communication paired with mirrors and symbolism are placed in communion with the use of chiaroscuro, thoroughly considered custom museum dioramas, and highly detailed photographic based renderings. .

No images, mediated or otherwise, are used that do not first pass directly through Millerâs camera. The goal of the photographically created images is to transcend being merely esthetically pleasing in order to arrive at a materialization of the underlying thought process. "My work is designed, from conception to final presentation, to lay bare the struggle and chess play behind my process.".

From the Jubal Arts & Music Studio annual dance recital in Grand Ledge, Michigan, May 2013 www.jubalarts.com

My awesome niece started this Christian-based dance school several years ago, realizing her dream in impressive fashion. Her student base doubled twice, then stabilized.

These recitals completely pack a high school auditorium consistently! And they run just a tad over ONE hour, with lightning fast transitions which are practiced extensively to ensure a fast-paced show.

This is a Christmas party favor my cousin prepared for our nephews and nieces. Of course I had to get one too!

When I thought everything was ended up in a mess this evening, my mate "A" asked me to join a discussion on "W"s conceptual framework for her thesis proposal. "W"s d-day will be this Saturday. She'll have a meeting with her 3 thesis advisors here in the university.

For almost four hours, I sat and watched over my two pals having arguments, looking for references and re-arranging variables within the framework. I felt like oh-so-proud of just to be there and to have friends like them. In a second after, I postulate that I will do my very best to devise my future, with my very own so-called conceptual framework. Way too far, eh? For me it's not. ;-)

The faucet has two knobs that afford being rotated. The colors indicate which one is hot (red) and cold (blue). A conceptual model of the faucet is that turning a knob causes the water to flow faster. This is in line with how a unblocking a hose and letting more water out as the opening becomes wider. However, a poor conceptual model is also present because turn a knob doesn't make the water hotter or colder. It simply acts like opening a valve, but people may think that turning a knob changes the temperature as well. Furthermore, it has a good mapping since each knob corresponds to one function that is clearly visible. The knobs also provide visual feedback as the water comes out with the turn of the knobs.

My conceptual series explores teenager logic and how teenagers make certain decisions. It specifically explores the risk vs. reward logic that teenagers often find themselves facing whether it be a school, home, or even personal decision. It shows how while many teenagers know what they should be doing, they choose to do something else even if it may cause trouble in the end.

My series shows this concept by showing different situations where people are choosing to do something even though it could be bad in the long run. In one of my photos, it shows people preparing to cheat on a test. While this could cause a better grade in the long run, the risk could cause serious repercussions with the school. Other photos show procrastination from things such as studying and cleaning up your room to show the immediate satisfaction of scrolling through social media or watching TV while knowing there would probably be consequences for not doing what they are supposed to be doing.

I’m going to say something about this image, this was a piece that came into my head just me and the model , not MUA not fancy lights just raw

The concept it’s about addictions and my personal experiences with them

When you are hooked on something your vulnerable (hence the nudity)

you look soulless ( the white paint and white eyes )

You can’t feel emotions or if you don’t there not with the full force (the white hands)

You can be at your most beautiful but also at your most damaged

I wanted to use sian for these reasons , she portrayed it perfectly

and I don’t care if no-one likes this

I did this for me and anyone else out there who has been a slave to addictions or perhaps still fighting them
