Bicycle designs are generally good conceptual models. This one in particular is a good model because the entire mechanism of the machine is for the user to see and observe. There is no plastic cap or covering on the gears. The gears are fully exposed and the user can see that pedaling is able to turn the gears and move the back wheel of the bicycle. Because of this, he can then predict what happens if he pedals faster or slower. This conceptual model is not only affected by bicycle design but also largely by culture and previous experiences with bicycles.

Our will leads to action, and our actions have some results, that are not in accordance with our will at first. But, this is not the end. Because, through these unwanted results, we learn things about ourselves, and the world around us.
