This computer was used from 1967 through 1990 at the US Air Force's Satellite Control facility in Sunnyvale, Calif.

It used discrete transisters, was optimized for real time use, had a 30-bit word length and initially was supplied with 32,000 words of memory (Your cell phone has orders of magnitudes more capability, too!)

The computer side of the table will have its drawer removed and will be turned into a hinged cover. A stopper will be used to keep the cover from opening to far and a magnet will help keep it closed.

Remove the plate. Mind the tiny screws.

â–¶ An NFL playoff game.

A glass full of beer next to laptop.

A thrilling play.

Beer is spilled on keyboard.

Keys stick and cease functioning, but, fortunately, computer's innards and motherboard remain un-drunk.

â–¶ A friend recommends her IT 'guy.' For the cost of the replacement keyboard (and some cider), he replaces the keyboard, repairing the laptop in 15 minutes.

â–¶ See the rest of the story.

Cables coming through the desk to a place where presumably a computer once was. The window around this desk is an amazing 180' view across the Bristol Channel towards Wales and Clevedon. Unfortunately it is mostly boarded up now and smashed, so I can only imagine what it looked like! You can also see cup marks on the desk - it's a great reminder of how people spent so many hours working here.

When there's programing to be done it has to be done hunched over a desk in a very dark room late at night.
