compositional exercise for my classes, it was made about Christmas card, but it isn't very close to Christmas,

Feuilles de Cicutaire maculée (Water Hemlock) sur fond de salicaires (Loosestrife).

I took this photo in my hallway with my Canon Rebel T6i. I was imagining how the rule of thirds could be broken so I set the flower towards the center of the photo to take this shot. I liked how this isn't exactly where it would fall in rule of thirds but also doesn't fall in the center of the photo. The colors contrast each other with the deep purple in the foreground and the lighter while in the back, it makes the flower stand out more and captures the viewers attention.

This week the project goals were composition. My photo creates composition through the flower and small branches. The focal point is placed on the left side of the photo making it the rule of thirds. The branches also create movement and are very intriguing. I created this photo by finding a colorful flower and placing it in my bush. I then moved the branches around the flower to create interesting lines. My greatest strength is how i use the rule of thirds, and the many lines i create with the branches. One thing i would change in this photo is to take out the branch crossing the front of the flower.

Two small roses coming along at the Esplendor Resort in Nogales in September. I liked this one for the composition.
