My subject is Celeste, and she was sitting a the top of the stairs while i stood at the bottom. I used perspective in this photo and i have to change my position to capture this photo. I would have had Celeste sit in a lace where there wasn't as much light.
The pink one (made in Brazil) I got at Office Depot and the paper is very thin but still excellent with no feathering even with my gushiest flex nibs using thin, runny ink. Even though they weren’t on sale, I got a bunch of these.
The brown one (made in Egypt) I got at Staples. The paper quality is okay — not as good as the pink one but not as bad as some others I’ve relegated for use as scraps. But, I love the off-white cream paper with brown lines. I think, with a warm, dark red-brown ink and a needlepoint fountain pen, I could make this work.
Triangles/Angles
In this photo I used Triangles/Angles for composition. This photo gives the feeling of a Summer beach just by looking at it. I think it has great lighting as well.
Common Composition Mistakes in Wide Angle Photography
Darlene Hildebrant
In digital photography 50mm is considered normal for full frame cameras, which equates to about 35mm for APS-C or cropped sensors. Thus, anything wider than 50mm (full frame) or 35mm (APS-C) is considered a wide angle lens. The smaller the number for focal length, the wider the angle. Typically 15mm is the limit for full frame and 10mm for APS-C. Technically a wide angle lens is any lens that has a wider field of view than what the human eye sees.
Avoid having everything in the image equal distance from the lens. With a wide angle lens you need to have something close to the lens. Really close!
Having no clear subject in the image is closely related to mistake the above. As soon as you get close enough to make the subject larger – it will start to stand out. So part of getting a clear subject is getting in tight.
Trying to cram too much into the image is a classic misuse of a wide angle lens.
The image on the left makes all 3 mistakes.
Saturday May 14th, 2011; Engine 212 Firehouse, 134 Wythe Ave Brooklyn NY
A Collaboration of Dance & Musical Composition is a collaboration between choreographer Stephanie Sleeper and composer Alon Nechushtan exploring together the spaces between performance and soundscape. The event features musicians from the Other String Quartet and performers from Sleepdance.
Neighbors Allied for Good Growth and The People’s Firehouse were awarded the rights to re-develop the former Engine 212 firehouse at 134 Wythe Avenue into the Northside Town Hall Community and Cultural Center. The main goals of the project include establishing a permanent home for NAG and PFI, providing affordable office and meeting space for other community organizations, creating a street-level exhibition space for local cultural and arts organizations, and commemorating FDNY Company #212 and other local history.
